By me in Fair Lawn NJ (Bergen County) I didn't think the storm was that big of deal. I went out about 5:00 yesterday and didn't use the snow blower. I had maybe 3 inches and it wasn't really that heavy certainly not like previous storm. Woke up at 5:00 and I went out and their was an inch or so and again not the heavy stuff. It was easy to clear with the shovel. The storm in early March was a lot worse. One more thing I had no wind with this storm at all.

Almost same. Overall we got 6 inches. Delayed opening.

I found out a few years back that I ain't as young as I used to be either... All it took was one 15" snowstorm that I had to shovel and that's all it took to convince me it was time to buy a snowblower. Went straight to Mrs. Cman and said either we buy a snowblower or we hire somebody to move all this snow. That was 5 years ago. RP, the only thing I shovel now is the snow wall at the bottom of the driveway and honestly man, that's enough.

It really is starting to make more sense to have one.

Also, as I mentioned in other places on this site, I am now sporting a few new stents in some pretty vital blood vessels.

My team of advisors has been "giving me the business" about doing my own shovelling.

Listen to them RP. Make the investment and I guarantee you you won't regret it. Either that or move way south...Too many unhappy endings with guys in our age group needing extreme medical attention because we didn't accept our limitations.

I got one of those plastic $200 ones from amazon and have been pleasantly surprised, has trouble in the heavy bog, but plows right thru fresh snow

Nice thing about the Ariens is that it also has an electric start option. Basically, at the start of the storm, I use the electric to get Big A warmed up. After that, only takes one pull and I'm back in the game. Downside of the Ariens is that it is a heavy beast. Unless you're in reasonably good shape, I would go with another, lighter brand of snowblower. Hell, I'm still sore from yesterday. :)

You explained my situation. You convinced me to go with Big A. Even bigger than yours. Lol. Now that I have this back issue I can't get it out of garage and handle the snow myself. This snow cost me $60. I hope CBG is happy.

I did it due to the snow wall at the bottom of driveway and it really worked the first time boss. :)

    Thanks. I will.

I'm too old to be a tough guy. Now I need to be a smart guy.

Up until a couple if weeks ago, I also used to take care of the lady across the street from me. She's in her 90s, and lost her husband about a year ago.

She knows about my situation. After the 1st Nor' Easter, she came to the door, and told me not to do her sidewalk, because she was going to get somebody.

I was happy to hear that, because I honestly didn't have the energy to do hers after doing mine.

Her daughter got someone to take care of her snow from the Home Advisor app.
