So who are these guaranteed future starters that we gave up ?

Because if you can guarantee 3 future starters from the 2nd pick you need to give the JETS a call and ask for a job, hell not just the Jets plenty of other teams would love to know a 2nd round draft pick is going to be a guaranteed starter.

What, would those starters mean anything playing with McCown or Bridgewater? No, we'd have 6 wins instead of 4 maybe. Even if we lose potential starters for this season, who cares, the franchise QB needs the year to get into his NFL shoes anyway. The next season is gonna be a transition type season to see what we have in our QBs, I don't expect much anyway. Also, the Vikings made us a huge favour by snagging Cousins.

The team needs a hell of a lot more than a QB from this group of QB's.
Mac didn't trade our draft away to move up 3 spots to pick one of these QB's. There isn't one in this class worth a 1st and 3 2nds. Not one of them. Consider our QB development, and you know he didn't. I'm hedging my bets on Barkley.
Either Cleveland takes Barkley 1st overall, or we pick him at 3 and they miss out at 4.
he didn't do all this trading up shit, for one of these QB's. There isn't one of them worth Gambling that big.

You don't trade up like that for a RB, you just don't do it. There is only one position you do that for and it is QB.

You do when that guy is a big time playmaker, regardless of position.
He will take less time developing, and will help everyone around him.
Rookie QB's don't do much but snuggle with their baseball caps, if they ever do anything more than that.... A.k.a. NyJets fan QB, Christian Hackenberg.

So which one of these "Can't miss QB's" would you pay so much for?
They all have major problems, yet this board is full of dumb dumbs who say we have to have one of these guys. This is not even close to the 1983 QB draft class. Todd Blackledge would go #1 in this group.

Maccagnan might not survive the week if he gives away 3 2s for a RB. The press would have a field day with that. He will take a QB and you can only hope the guy ends up playing here for years.

I am not one of the 30 or so full time people maccagnan has scouting these people for the last three years so i don't know but he must be happy with at least three of them. As a fan I would probably take rosen first and darnold second.

This trade just told me that both Cleveland and the Giants are taking QBs. Apparently the Jets at least reached out to Cleveland and the Giants for 1 or 2, but they didn't bite.

Could the Giants just be waiting for Denver or Buffalo to get desperate? Maybe, but the Jets definitely just set the market for trade ups. This is going to cost Buffalo an absurd amount.

Now, if Cleveland and the Giants are both taking QBs 1 and 2, Mac just made an excellent move guaranteeing one of the three best QBs.

You simply can't win a SB without a QB, period. Your team might be stacked like the Jags or Vikings but you're not getting past the conference championship game, that's best case scenario. Unless someone is willing to argue you can win it with a Bortles calibre QB.
As for taking RBs so high, we can sing praises to Elliott and Fournette but they're yet to prove they're the real difference makers when it comes to going all the way.

I have been saying that forever, Gruden won a SB with Brad Johnson and the Giants won one with Hostettler in a backup role but tell me any other superbowl winner that didn't have a franchise QB starting that game.

Is there honestly anything that the Jets could possibly do that the almighty LIB would approve of? I don’t know if you’re trolling or just a straight up miserable persons, but your act is getting old.

If Mac had wanted a QB in the draft, he was not going to get the QB he desired the most sitting at 6. He had to move up. There would have been a bidding war for the 3rd pick any way. This was a very logical approach to finding a QB that the team can win with.
