The most important thing the Jets can do right now is leak to every media source they can find that they were told by the Giants that the Giants intend to take Barkley at #2. Why is this important? Because a reasonable assumption can be made that the Browns are hoping to come out of this draft with Barkley and one of the Top 4 QBs. If the Browns assume the Giants and Jets are disinterested in Barkley, they will take a QB at #1 and then follow-up with Barkley at #4. If the Giants take a QB, too, that would mean the Jets get the 3rd QB in the draft (who likely would not be their top choice). However, if the Browns become convinced that Barkley will not be there at #4, they might take him with the #1 choice and then settle for the leftover QB at #4. Unfortunately, everyone knows the Jets aren't taking Barkley (or trading out of the 3rd spot so somebody else can take Barkley) ... so they need to pin Barkley on the Giants at #2. If the Browns were convinced Barkley would be gone by #4 and took him instead with the first pick in the draft, the Giants might not take a QB either (or might take one we're not interested), which would far better the odds that the Jets would get their top QB choice. The Browns' concern about Barkley could be the difference between us getting our top choice or our 3rd rated QB.
If Barkley is there at 2 the Giants take him. They still have Eli and it will be a big help to that offense. If Cleveland wants Barkley they take him at 1, they are not that dumb to hope he is there at 4...I think.
