It's questionable as to what they are trying to accomplish with this signing.......they still have a need to sign another or draft one. Unless McCown is only there as a stop gap in case of an injury.
Holding out Hope Rosen and Mayfield drop to 6 and we nab one of them. Allen is a monstrosity. I can picture him being like Roesthlisberger, a beast that no one can get down on the ground.
Josh seems like a great guy but hard to get very excited about the signing - still at least it hopefully means we draft a QB at #6 and fingers crossed we get the right one for once (we wont)

It wouldn't surprise me , though I don't think that is what they have in mind. They will definitely implement one of the yoounger QB's at some point. Shheeesh , give this some time to see what develops . - or else just have every nut case here jump off a cliff for no stupid reason.
I cannot believe how excited I was for Free Agency and all the possibilities that I thought of, to sit here and see Josh McCown has re-signed and THAT IS IT. Awful. Embarrassing really. Some fans questioned Mac and Bowles have no fear about losing their jobs. This week has proved that to be true. McCown? Wow.
I agree, it doesn't make sense - people are jumping to conclusions and the lemmings here are just that foolish enough to think he's going be taking snaps the whole entire year? That won't happen. It's all just a stop gap..
Sadly I bought into the Kirk Cousins dream. I never thought he would win us a super bowl but at least he would have made us a winning franchise with a realistic chance to win every game we played. Hope is everything to being a sports fan. It doesn't matter in the end if you win or lose just that you enjoy the product on the field. I haven't truly enjoyed a jets game since 2010, since that was the last time I truly knew we were a decent team with a fighters chance of winning it all. This stent of Fitzpatrick and McCown is absolutely horrible. I don't even care if we win a game anymore because I know it is short lived and counterproductive. This may be an unpopular view point in this site but I really don't care if the Jets win the superbowl in my lifetime. I just want each week to be an entertaining game where I can turn my tv on and know my team has just as good of a chance as the other team to win. /Sorry for the rant, the whiskey has taken over.
