There could be ton of openings this year:

    Giants
    Colts
    Bears
    Broncos
    Cardinals (retire)
    Cowboys
    Bengals
    Browns
    Bucs
    Lions

Listening to the way Rich Gannon was talking about Morton a few weeks ago on the broadcast leads me to believe that he’s pretty highly regarded within league circles. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him get a few interviews after the way the offense has performed this year.

Keep in mind that the Bucs dumped Lovie Smith in order to keep Dirk Koetter from going on interviews so this move is not unprecedented.

There's no way Bowles is getting canned after this season though. The team has overachieved, he'll be back next year.

Bowles isn't going anywhere, but I also don't really like the idea of canning the HC in order to keep one of his subordinates. Really hasn't worked out all that well for the Buccaneers, has it? Can't imagine that it would be well received in the locker room either. Plenty of opportunity for that kind of move to divide the team before the season even starts.

That said, I do like what Morton's done so far, the occasional bouts of suspect playcalling notwithstanding. He's done much better than I'd imagined he would, especially given what he's got to work with.

no,morton is a first year coordinator, he has another year or 2 before he starts getting hc consideration.

Second week in a row you started a very insightful thread

Here's an idea..extend Bowles but demote him to asst coach or DC where he really excels

That way we can keep his positive influence with the troops to play hard each week but have a NEW identity as an offensive minded organization with Morton or someone else to draw up the Xs and Os

Agents would take notice too..the two Cali QBs might be encouraged to leave school if they saw the NYJ without a frontman who loves defense and usually plays Vets

bowles should be let go immediately & either Morton promoted to HC or hire someone like Shurmur... bowles has Continuously shown that he Is Clueless & has Zero feel for the game.

and while they're at it they should fire the DC as well.

All of a sudden the OC is a hero. Last week he was being knocked for not running the ball enough. I give up. Go Jets.

    Shumer, really? Okay.

Who do you think he'll bring in as DC? De Blasio maybe?

It's not happening, and just because Morton is a good OC, doesn't mean he will be a good head coach. Like it or not, Bowles is very likely to be back. Let's see how he progresses going forward.

I'd like Wade Phillips as DC/Asst HC and Defilippo as the OC, that is if Morton decides to leave.

If I was running this insane asylum I would provide Bowles a slight vote of confidence provided the DC gets canned. If Bowles has an issue with it they both get shit canned. Move Morton up and go from there.
Apparently having a defensive minded coach is no recipe for a good defense.

As Maccagnan and Bowles' contracts will be expiring after 2018 + seeing how the team is performing during this season: I'd say, Bowles should be back.
Give Morton a young QB or Cousins to maximize the talent we have on offense and let's see how things will happen during next season.
+ give Bowles proper man press CB's and one legit pass rusher

Btw, do u know who are calling the defensive plays? Against KC, I am really sure Rodgers did it, as not giving safety help for Robinson and Claiborne vs Hill...

Those that want to move Morton to HC should watch Bucs football the last 2 seasons.

Morton has a lot more work to do before being considered for an HC position. One good year isn't going to get it done

    This is absurd two fold.
    1. We've overachieved and to our shock it looks like we are building towards a winning culture. Bowles has his moments in game coaching but the players play for him and they have overachieved. The way things are going he should be here for the long haul. Be nice to have a long term coach.

    2. Look next door. How well did that work out with Mcadoo and the Giants? Morton gets interviews this year for a HC maybe. Maybe he knocks it out of the park and someone hires him but I think another year or two like this before he is the hot coordinator.

We mocked him this week because he ran the ball far too much, funny world isn't it :)
