Both safeties had rough games today. Adams made a couple of plays toward the end of the game, but this wasn't a good game for the 2 safeties.

You busted out with your view on Adams months ago, so much that it is barely even valid now ;)

Young guy has bad game shock, young guy is not a robot shock.

Poster who hates said young guy is quick to get the knife out shocker.

Lol......i dont hate him. Im really just hoping thay Mac does better this year with our first round pick. Leo is legit...again not a dominant game changer but good. Who was our last game changing 1st round pick?

This is such a ridiculous thread, it's like watching a dog run around a pole in a leash - just goes nowhere... oh moderator please lock it.

How inane is it that we need to critique a 1st year rookie that shows such great leadership and enthusiasm that we have not seen since I can't remember when? No freaking big deal if he's had some bad days. Just let it die and watch this kid grow and get better with each passing game.

KC's offense is always tough on safeties. Their strengths are direct attacks at the safety positions and they use alot of misdirection in the passing game and they go through their reads making it tough schematically in addition to physical challenges.

you are right both the rookie safeties struggled today but it was against a great challenge. today was a learning experience for them

KC is a top 10 NFL Offense but never mind that. Adams is a bust, and the Safeties suck, and so does Bowles. See he's playing them incorrectly. Oh, and Mac sucks too for drafting Adams

So far this year, both of the rookie safeties have been great additions to this defense. Hopefully they are both able to analyze the film and fix their mistakes from this game. It was good to see that even though they struggled today, Adams was able to make a few plays at the end of the game to help seal the victory.

Adams was quiet yet solid today. Maye really struggled but hey, Kelce is arguably the best TE in the game. That was the first time I've seen Maye get beat beyond him by Hill and Kelce. It will happen, and he will be better because of it.

Adams didn't do himself any favors with that poor tackling on the long Alex Smith rush. Almost looked like he bounced off of him.

That's because he tried to knock the ball out rather than tackle and then got tangled up with the other defender. Overconfidence and rookie growing pains. He got it wrong and should learn from it.

He tried to strip the ball rather than tackle, that was his mistake on that play, he really should have hit Smith into the stands with a legitimate but hard tackle, make him think twice about scampering for a huge run.

He had a free shot on the other team's quarterback in the open field. The hell with trying to strip it. He should've put his helmet right in the small of Smith's back and crushed him

Some bad moments for Maye and Adams yesterday, but again, these are two rookies forming a tandem at safety. They've looked better than not and we should expect growing pains and rookie moments. No cause for concern

Are you expecting Lott out of the gate? Jamal is a rookie some Jet fans are just unbelievable.

  17. They have potential to be a dynamic duo. Unless you include Ronnie Lott who was here far past his prime both have a chance in their own right of being far & away the best safety(ies) in Jets history.

Adams is well rounded & aggressive minded..I think he'll find a way to make those 2 attributes compliment each other better moving forward. Maye is also well rounded. Not quite as aggressive or imposing within the the box..but he's very good in coverage & at the top of his drops.

I think having 2 interchangeable safeties who compliment each other well was an extremely innovative clever idea b.c so much of what offenses run now is dictatated by safety alignment & their skillset. Still would've preferred they go offense..but it at least made sense & gave the team something to build off. Adams is a special type of leader.

Adams was and still is the best player the Jets could have possibly drafted in 2017, no doubt in my mind. The naysayers are just trying to highlight negatives to justify their own agendas. This is the sh*t we'll be continuing to read - just like about how Darron Lee is still a bust. I thought he was sorely missed out there in the KC game. But of course, the ones with the agendas will tell you differently.

This is not comparing apples to apples, but how did Revis do his rookie year? I'm trying to go back into the memory bank on him that year and all I really remember was that huge bomb Moss caught, running right by him. Compared to the rest of his career, he struggled a bit in his rookie year right? - or at least had some growing pains.....

Revis was drafted 14th, obviously not as high as Adams, so I can see why there would be criticism on the pick, but outside on QB, isn't the transition from college to pro for a DB the steepest learning curve?

Revis was legit his rookie year. I remember he struggled a bit covering the slant, but he was already one of the best corners in the league the moment he stepped onto the field.

Adams has been disappointing for a guy drafted as high as he was. 0 INTs through 12 games is not good.
