Jarvis Landry wasn't 100% and still had 13 receptions, Cutler completed 72% of his passes. Parker, Landry, Ajayi will destroy the Jets. If you give Cutler time he can still slice up a D. Cameron Wake will show up against the Jets. This could get ugly fast.
It's hard to hope for anything with our defense. Maybe if the offense somehow manages to compensate for the leaks in the defense, maybe McCown's stellar running game will save us.
I hate the Dolphins with a passion, but I almost hope that it does get ugly fast. The more Bowles can be exposed as the incompetent fraud he is, the better. Maybe that will piss off Woody to the point where he changes the org chart and gives Mac supervision over Bowles. Mac then could order Bowles to sit McCown and Forte, play Kerley and Kersey less and play Petty, Powell, McGuire, and at WR Stewart, Anderson and Hansen more.
Wishful thinking, Woody is drinking tea and strumpets with his pinky out further than usual these days...
Perhaps, but at least his brother Chris is here witnessing everything first hand, and I'm sure reporting to Woody.
More like assigned to Landry, Skrine couldn't cover himself with a blanket. He's worse than Kyle Wilson, who would thought that could even happen. Road games are tough to win, Dolphins have better players and coaching so it might be close, but Fins win....31-20
Be nice to see a Suh-Wake sandwich, with a McCown middle, late in the 4th. Bring Petty in and keep him safe to get warmed up for Jags and then Browns.
I'd like to see McCown earn his $6mil. Sandwich or not. Blowes wants to play his vets come hell or high water? So be it..
That's $6M but can go up to $8M if he plays every game, $125K bonus for every game he takes 50% of snaps. That's $1.625M more on the cap next year if next game is his last.
Well since you put it that way.... I hope Suh/Wake open up another delicatessen at Metlife this Sunday. A nice double meat McCown sandwich..
Gaining cap space, however minimal, while giving Petty one last shot to show what he's got. I'd rather that over more of McCown. Hate hoping for McCown to get injured but if the coaching staff won't take him out someone has to.
I never root against the Jets and came into the season actively rooting for them during the game..after a few weeks I can barely even watch this team..I'm just gonna root for the Jets to lose every game going forward in embarrassing fashion..anything less than Bowles being fired and Darnold being drafted is a disaster.
I am mixed. I agree, playing McCown benefits the Jets in 0 ways in terms of the future (besides draft status), but I think he has done a solid job leadership wise so far this year. He had some nice passes in each game too. He would be on my positive list, which is much shorter than my negative list so far this season. What is the point though? Valid question.
@The Waterboy @Cman60 You guys are right though. The QB's were handled terribly this Training Camp. That can't be debated. First of all, they said it was a 3-man competition. Then they never really gave Petty a chance or Reps. Then they named Hack the starter for Game 2 and 3, never letting the eventual starter (McCown) even get reps with the starting offense. Then they realize Hack isn't ready to start at all, name McCown the starter, Petty hurts his knee, then Hack named the 2, now Hack named the 3 as Petty is healthy and clearly outplayed him. I mean you can't make up how bad the coaching staff has handled all of this. The Miami Defense might truly send McCown to the sideline for the rest of the year though. Time will tell.
