Every time he has a bad game everyone wants him benched. The Bears are the best defense in the nfl, they make alot of qbs look bad. No matter what you think of Chad, you dont bench your starting qb when your 5-5 and still have a shot at the playoffs. You wanna put in a rookie or Patrick freaking Ramsey and just mail in the season. I didnt hear anyone bitching about benching Pennington last week. Jets have the Texans and Packers next, 2 of the worst pass defenses in the nfl. So if Chad has 2 good games everything will be ok again.

dont worry, the band wagon jumpers will be right back on board when we beat the texans next week. When Chad plays well, they'll act like they knew it all along. Its just best to ignore it

Chad played really bad today. The rest of the team played good, he didn't.

He made some bad decisions, which led to VERY costly mistakes. End of story. Tell me one QB that doesn't...

The receivers, except Coles, did not play that well either.

Dwight played well, the rest really didn't get that many opportunities.

It seemed like Cotchery was off today as well.

Man its not about jumping on the bandwagon. We have been speculating on Chad the whole season. If we are speculating its because he's giving us a reason to. I love Chad as well but as Jets fans we need to know whats best for the team and our success. Look what happand in Dallas. They were iffy with Drew, they felt like he could be the reason for their troubles, they brought in a new qb and look what happened. There playing great. Drew was winning games and he was healthy but they felt they could get better so they made the move. So there is nothing wrong for us to speculate about Chad. Maybe we do need a change who knows?

If we did need a change,it wouldn't be anybody we have on the bench right now.

My doubts about Chad grow with every big game that passes. Next week though, is Houston, a weak defense which means Chad should have no problem.

I don't think we should bench him as he is definitely our best QB on the roster at the moment, but seeing as how he has struggled not just this season but throughout his career against tough defences and in big moments it would be irresponsible not to look at the long term options. Clemens is our future, but I don't think he is ready to take over this season.

This is painful as I am a huge Chad fan for everything he has overcome, but he isn't a gamebreaker QB and is consistently held down by good defenses. Sometimes you can credit a defense with shutting down a quarterback, but he shouldn't be so easily shut down by nearly every good defense we've faced.

He had pretty good games vs the Pats, Phins and Bills this season, all good defensive teams.

Chad has 6 TDs and 10 INTs over his last 8 starts. Even at his lowest points he's always been able to protect the ball well, and he's not doing that now. That's not just one bad game, or two bad games, or just against the best defense in the NFL.

If the Jets want to make the playoffs this year there really isn't any choice at QB other than Pennington, but to act like people who note that today's performance is not that out of line with the way he's playing in general are bandwagon jumpers is IMO unreasonable.

He's had 3 really bad games out of the last 6. I don't know whether benching him would help the team at the moment but you have to admit that in 3 of the last 6 games playing him gave the Jets little or no chance to win.

The NFL is like any other highly competitive system, it punishes you badly for pretending nothing is wrong when one of your key parts stops performing well.

Chad played like shit but seriously... There are more people saying 'Stop saying bench him' than people who are actually saying 'bench him'

Don't for one minute think Mangini is not paying attention. Mangini is a rookie coach so he came in with Chad on the roster and knowing what he had to work with. Mangini hates to lose and Chad is beginning to get the big eyes again (when people are scared and think too much). He also is beginning to be a liability to the talent we have. Schottie will be an exciting OC to watch once a few peices come in place. For us fans to smile on a consistant basis three things have to change after the season. Rid your team of Chad though he's a decent QB and work in Clemens ( send Chad to KC), load the running game with Cedric Houston (he is our best back in my opinion period and I hope he doesn't become another Jordan), and get another speedster at wr.

This is nothing new for Chad. I love Chad too but if you believe that he is going to take us to the super bowl your truly mistaken. When everyone blew their load about those two 300 yard games which really were because run after the catch by his receivers not cause of his throwing. When was the last time he threw for over 200 yards. In hte last 9 games, he has thrown over 200 yards once and that was 207 yards. Someone said it best in tough games when we needed him ot make one or two plays he doesnt. First he was looking off defenders too much, now he stares at the receiver he is going to throw too. Damn everyone knew where he was throwing and the funny thing is even if Urlacher wasnt there the receiver was so well covered. Its time to move to another direction, he is not going to do it for us. Great guy jsut not a great player. Enough about his surgeries too, we all understand but enough is enough.

Chad is not going anywhere, peple can call for his head all they want, he will be our QB for the next few years at least, unless injured. I truly on blame him for his second pick, just eat the ball and go down. His first pick in the end zone he made a bad read against a great D. Its only his 2ND INT in the red-zone, thats ridiculous. That is like when someone passes away at the age of 100, do you mourn their passing, or celebrate their life.
