I'm originally a Queens native from S.Ozone Park so naturally i would've loved to see us move back to Queens even if it were to share a stadium with the Mets, just to know that we've returned back home to Queens; but i guess that'll never happen.

But for everyone complaining about the appearance of our new MetLife stadium? You all have not seen an ugly stadium or an eye sore until you've lived right up the street from...

Now I'm sorry. But that is one atrocious, ugly, dreadful, lousy, unpleasant and hideous stadium. Maybe that's why I've always viewed MetLife as a beautiful structure.

Holy crap! That shithole looks like a huge silo. Worse even than Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

Well it is almost 30 years old, I personally don't think it is a terrible stadium but I did grow up going to Shea so that is one of my reference points.

Yeah, they really did a number on Woody. James Dolan said that area the Westside eyesore was going to be developed by him into low income housing (yeah right). He just didn't want it competing with the Garden. They could have had political conventions, Final Four tournaments, Super Bowls. Usage all year long. Last I heard the Westside area is still a dump and Dolan hasn't spent a dime building low incomes housing.

  6. Woody has deep pockets & may have more of a political pipeline now than he did 15 years ago;Especially w. his buddy in the white house.

That said I'm gonna ask 2 questions

A.How long before it becomes abundantly clear we've needed a home of our own all along?
    B. Whats the earliest respectable time frame in which to start a search for an alternative site?

Yea. You're right. They've been talking about a new stadium for a while but it's just hard with a lack of real fan base. Just so many people and families in Florida who are originally from up north. The fan attendance flat out sucks (currently dead last despite a really fun team to watch and one who's competing).

That's one thing about N.Y sports teams. No matter how bad at times they'll always have fans in the stands due to population and loyality.

I will say that the inside of the trop is pretty nice and the field is really pretty due to a brand new infield and turf but overall it's just an eye sore from the outside.

Maybe it's just me but MetLife is a really nice looking stadium (although could have been built more high tech and/or fancy).

I guess I'm just thankful that as an NYJ fan our stadium is no longer called "Giants Stadium" and as an original Queens native i can enjoy a little bragging rights (stadium wise) with the name of 'MetLife' due to the Jets being an original Queens franchise ala the Mets playing in Queens. I myself personally I like to call it "JetLife".

So you just want to chirp? It doesn't matter that you disagree with me but when given a chance to bolster your argument that the place looks like the old Jets logo, you completely disregard the question. Let's try again - Perhaps you can tell us what part of that stadium looks like what part of what kind of jet?

Boy, that is ugly. That lopsided roof only makes it worse. But I used to go watch football games at a stadium that had no real outside wall, just squares of blue and orange confetti hung on cables.

And you know what makes it even worse? Right there on 16th street. Not even 2-4 blocks down the street? The slums and ghetto of Florida. Good people but at the same time come the nights, dangerous. And often times deadly.

Just google "South St.Pete shootings". And look at all these kids killing since the late 80's & especially 90's and even worse today.

Two blocks up the road on 16th St. South is the neighborhood of "Campbell Park". The APT Complex/PJ's right up the corner from the trop is called "Bethel Heights". Google "Bethel Heights Gangs" and you'll see. For generations. These kids been at war with eachother. Jacking cars. Armed robbery. Everything. Every night too. And there's over 15 different neighborhood's in the South side of the city and Campbell Park (where the Rays play) just so happens to be one of those neighborhoods.

Their Elementary school. Campbell Park Elementary. Google it. Ranked top 5 as one of the worst Elementaries in America. Principal just fired this year 2017.

The next Neighborhood over is "Playlot 3". Less than 10 blocks over. PL3 has an Elementary school called "Melrose Elementary". Google it. And just like C.P; Melrose is rated top 5 worst elementary schools within the U.S.

The S.Side of St.Pete. 15 mins away from the beach. Is truly in poverty. And that's where TB plays ball. You will never. Ever. See a Rays player on the S.Side after a game. They go out to eat and have their fun on the N.Side or over the bridge in Tampa. But they will never pump gas on the S.Side. That is where Josh Hamilton was hooked on drugs. Bad too. On the S.Side of St.Pete. Rays had to get rid of him.

You see. When talking fan attendance. This is what the media hides from you. Older people and families are scared. They don't wanna get lost and become another victim. Most don't even wanna drive through there.

Florida isn't all beaches and sand. There is a bad and dark past here. Slavery and people were hung by trees here. Pretty beaches but less than 10 mins away slums and poverty. And violence.

Thankfully me & my family all live on the N.Side of St.Pete where life is calm. But the Rays eye sore is a product of environment. And MLB doesn't want the outside world to know either.

What do you want me to do draw you a picture explaining it, if you can't look at the old helmet and see a jet how the hell am I going to explain that the stadium was designed in the same fashion, you know with a great big shark fin at one end.

    Sharks rule !!!!

We can start with the helmet, how does that not look like a concorde jet, spelling out jets in the trailing vapour ?

So now we have moved onto elementary using your imagination we can take a look at the stadium, now I will admit my skills on a PC are worse than your skills at imagination but bare with me.

As crude as that is it is plainly a tail wing of a jet, it isn't a huge stretch of the imagination to see it when you are a fan of a team called the Jets

    Anyway nice wumming

PSL's would've been 2 or 3x the price. Would've been nice, but it would've been even less affordable than MetLife has been.

You really didn't need to go to the trouble. The old logo, I'm sure was intended to be what you envision, I just think it didn't do a good job. The architecture question is something else. I would imagine that if an airplane was the inspiration the architects and their PR people would have suggested that in their pitch - I never saw that and for me it is a "huge stretch." We'll just have to disagree.

I'm still salty about this. I don't understand why Woody rejected the Yonkers Raceway location.:mad:

Well what the hell do you think they were intending to suggest with the stadium design with a great big tail fin at one end of it ?

As for the helmet it works perfectly fine in how they intended, in fact you are the only person I have ever known that actually didn't realise it was a Jet, the only one o_O
