You need to go back and watch the MNF games with Arizona and Indy - then watch the two Dolphin games.

    That team quit.

Okay dude. I'm not trying to convince you of anything but your mind is made up already and this conversation has become pointless.

I'm not NFL coach, but here is some things that could have worked:
    1) Single a particularly obnoxious assholes out and sit his ass. My personal choice would be Revis
    2) Take it to the media and call him/them LAZY MOTHERFUCKERS -- right into the open mic.
    3) Let reporters know that Mevis is available in a trade for a pag of footballs and "future considerations"

I don't know if any of the above would work. But I know for sure that doing NOTHING would not work.
For a manager ignoring = approving. Doing nothing mean shitty manager

Except it wasn't Bowles who is doing the blood letting. He had his chance, and didn't. Mac is the one driving this ship while Bowles is just a placeholder!

    Again....

Bowles speaking on leadership is idiotic! He is no leader and his opinion on the matter is worthless.

that's a win because we need that draft pick for a franchise QB and that franchise QB does not need to be coming into a dumpster fire like in the past

Who kept trotting Fitzpatrick out there?

Bowles didn't hold anyone accountable, and that clearly showed on the field. More than that though, he has shown no ability to manage a game. At best he's a good "D" coordinator, and I say that giving him the benefit of the doubt based on his work prior to coming to the Jets.

I hope he succeeds, despite my current assessment. As a Jets fan, what other choice is there? Maybe he'll become an all-time great like one of the coaches listed above, but I doubt it. There's a greater chance that he won't last the season, or will be fired by the end, and the Jets will be looking to rebuild again in 2018. This franchise is like a bad lover: all foreplay and no orgasm.

Who are the leaders that are left on this team? Williams is ok but too young to be considered a leader.

I'd say out of the veterans it's pro's like Matt Forte, Eric Decker and Mo Wilkerson (despite an off 2016).

But with a youth movement there becomes opportunity for younger players (outside of the QB position) for players such as Leonard Williams, Jamal Adams and Quincy Enunwa to all step up as team leaders.

All good kids too. Those are the 3 in who I'm looking at for new found leadership.

It is amazing that you keep defending Bowles and throwing all the blame to Fitzpatrick. WHO do you think kept PLAYING Fitzpatrick when the rest of the country wanted him, benched, cut or deactivated. Bowles biggest problem is that he plays the old vets no matter how bad. Fitz and Revis were the two worst players in the league last year and Todd NOBALLS refused to sit them down!!!

Those games really stood out. Bowles made no corrections the whole game. Tanking this season should be a breeze.

So much for Harris and Decker, Mo has been a distraction off the field, his lateness has gone on since before his extension, was sat a start in 15 and again in 16.Then blamed the training staff for his poor play. Not the best example for the young guys. If he steps up this year in the locker room as a leader then sure but as of now Williams is the only clear leader with Adams and Maybe behind him on the D and Powell on the Offensive side. Forte I'm on the fence about Forte. Seems high on Morton but also is blaming his drop off on Gailey. No need for excuses. Lead by example and let last season die.

2015 was all smoke and mirrors. They overachieved and last year the reality set in. They were not a playoff team, not even close.

Williams is young, but he's already shown he can carry his teammates.

Williams is definitely one of the team leaders. The team is young. Williams has shown leadership on and off the field.

Once again posting stats as if that is what defines a great player or coach. What you fail to look at is that each of those coaches improved each year starting from their 1st. Bowles on the other hand went backwards.

And Parcells actually got to the Giants to the playoffs his second year.

Most all time great coaches show improvement after their 1st year, Bowles has not as yet.

I don't like to use my 37 year season tic holder unless I have to but in all my years going I have never ever seen a jet team so flat uninterested and out to lunch as the colts mnf game. That is all Bowles. He lost me forever that night

This is good news because from last season I did not think Bowles had it in him to acknowledge a problem and address it.

Glad to see him recognize that the team wasn't really much of a team in 2016 and is hoping to mend that for the 2017 season and beyond.
