What did cat food industry ever do to you? So you've got a dilemma. A LB with stiff hip, or a fluid safety/LB tweener without a head. I'm going with the stiff.
LOL blitz. Sad state of affairs indeed, but worst trade ever? A bit over the top wouldn't you say. The Jets were ready to release Pryor, adding to the long list of draft busts of years gone by. This is merely a clean up trade. Davis has some value on a limited role. Pryor had negative value. Even if you traded Pryor for camp fodder it would not be the worst trade in history particularly by Jets standards of bad trades.
He should be next. Notice how he's been chirping so much in the media this offseason, commenting about Marshall and about the Jets young players as if he's some team leader or something. I'm getting close to the point where I'd be happy with their just cutting him if they can't find a trade partner. It would be addition by subtraction as far as I'm concerned.
I love you as a poster boozer32 but how can you say that about Lee & consider him as "worthless"? That's pretty extreme considering the fact that he's only heading into his second season. This Ohio State prospect is a very athletically gifted talent. Does he need to improve in pass coverage upon his rookie season? Of course. But at the same time he has all of the makings of a player who can develop into an athletic NFL tackling maihine @ MLB. Last year before getting banged up he led our Jets team in defensive tackles. He also ranked 3rd amongst all rookie LB's drafted and 7th amongst all defensive rookies drafted in tackles last year; despite only playing in 13 games (9 starts). And not to make any excuses but if only the likes of Sheldon and especially Wilkerson (who took the year off) would have played dominant football last year; Darron Lee would have looked so much better behind our D-Line as a raw rookie. And if the likes of Willerson, Richardson & Williams dominate the D-Line here in 2017 this D.Lee kid can flourish as a 2nd year player while also making a living behind the L.O.S. Also. Our entire secondary could not stop a nose bleed in regards to pass defense. He was hung out to dry one too many times in pass coverage as a rookie but boy can he read, react, smell & sniff out the run. He's going to be a good one for gang green. As this Ohio State kid continues to improve (still only 22 years of age) while learning the position (on an NFL level) he's going to develop into a stud. The kid, despite a struggling D-Line/Secondary... just ranked 3rd amongst all rookie LB's and 7th amongst all NFL rookies in total tackles but yet, is considered as being "worthless". Pretty sad.
I think our defense has the potential to be really good this season, but only IF some people make strides. We have a great d-line no doubt about it. sheldon, wilk, williams, mclendon. lee and harris at the ILB positions and jenkins/mouldin outside (OLB is probably our weakest) we have clayborne who can't play worse then revis did last season. skrine is a good nickel CB. the CB2 position will be tough. hopefully williams bounces back this season and burris steps up. and then we got our 1st and 2nd round picks at the safety position.
For the people who actually know what's going on this move was most likely gonna happen, whether that was thru a trade or release. As for getting DeMario Davis back... It's fine to me. He's a decent player who can add good depth if need be. High character guy and for one year why not. I'll take it.
Poor Davis.. Made it out of the Jets black hole trying to move on with his life only to get sucked back in
Jets-Browns-Jets. 5 years into his career and he still doesn't know what NFL football is like, except as a trample-ee.
It's guys and fans like you that keep the team in the state it's in.You blindly applaud every move the franchise makes no matter how stupid, incompetent or pointless it actually is.When Woody Johnson raises PSL prices guys like you come to his defense then bend over and take it up the ass and continue spending money on your favorite team. The Pryor trade is the same as cutting him ,there is no upside to it we all know what Demario Davis brings to the table and it isn't much.Todd Bowles and Macc will more then likely be fired after this year so we will revisit this awesome trade later this year
Except there is a difference between cutting Pryor and trading him. Cap implications factor in to roster moves too.
