I'm all for the long game. i know building a franchise takes time, but nobody builds around a safety and no QB will ever develop around our o-line, TEs, and Run game. Too bad here wasn't a stud LT i loved the 04 draft with brick and mangold that was the way to set up for developing a QB. we just wound up in a shit position, no way to trade down no player to build around so we went value and took the 2nd best player available because the BPA would have been a terrible pick due to being a DE
Because trading up has worked soooooo well for us that we've been out of the playoffs for 6 years running after doing it every year for about 5 straight drafts.
It's still early and I think the drafts best QB may still be on the board. Look for those teams to grab a Peterman, Dobbs or Kaaya tomorrow.
Yeah as do most of us, but you do realize you have to have a willing and eager partner unless you want to get fleeced
F that! We aren't in a position to waste picks. You need every bullet in the chamber. An edge rusher and some OL depth are better than a position we don't even use.
Pick 15. Still on the board: Reuben Foster, Jonathan Allen, Malik Hooker, OJ Howard. Jesus. Edit: And the Colts take Hooker. That makes sense.
But not on a team where the player you acquire is not going to amount to anything the next season. Jets aren't looking for one piece to complete the team they're looking for many pieces to build it. Hence more draft picks and no trade ups.
Please Mac trade back in t I understand that. I wish we could package Richardson and a pick to move back in the first rd.
Agreed .. IMO no way we trade up for overrated Howard and give up Picks .. unless they take Richardson instead. There's plenty of good TE's to be had in RD 2.
We're not building around Adams. We're simply building. You need a complete roster to compete. A project QB is not who you build around. If Hack shows us something, Mike McGlinchey could be our pick next year, if not, we should be in prime position to take one and have a more complete roster around him.
