For the Jets to make the playoffs next year I'll bet you wouldn't need to kill or maim more than 10% of all the players in the NFL as long as you target only starters in the AFC who don't wear green uniforms. Maybe 15% to be safe. I guess it all depends on how much you'd relish bumping this thread and your ability.
As bad as 7 straight years without a playoff appearance is, it pales in contrast to 46 straight years without a SB appearance. From my POV, I don't care about just making the playoffs, I want a SB, nothing less.
Of course I don't expect it "any day now", I just want them to go for broke and not settle for the bullshit 9-7, 10-6 seasons that MIGHT get them into the playoffs, but then "one and done", meanwhile being consigned to draft purgatory with picks higher than 20.
Sounds like you want the team to be smart rather than stupid. Well Woody Johnson is 69 but the average life expectancy of the wealthy is about 14 years higher so call it 20 years give or take. Wonder what the chances of one of his children being smart are. It would take some true luck, but he could sell. Also, he might hire the right GM on accident, and then let that GM hire the coach. Short of one of those two miracles, I'd say the streak has a lot of potential.
There is only one path to the playoffs for this team, and that is Hackenberg emerging out of nowhere as a quality starting QB. Don't get your hopes up. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
The Jets repeated efforts to "retool" instead of rebuilding has been sponsored by the Acme Corporation.
Well my Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL across the border came in last place in 16 and just got a playoff spot in 17. Anything is possible.
Your math needs some improvement since the NYJs won SB 3 on 01/12/69 & it is now 2017 so U do the math & U will come to the conclusion that it is now 48 years & counting since we last won a SB
