No. Other than him being terrible in week 4 of last year's preseason. But that'll happen when you only start 2 regular season games in 7 years.
Only to then give the gig to a 30yo with not that much more experience, mind boggling The excuse is for tanking purposes, well give it to Hack and he can tank while learning how to do the job for real, we would at least find out what he is made of either way.
Embrace the suck. I'm already in 2017 suck mode. Can't wait till we pick a first round player that will suck. We all know we have sucked in the 2nd round for decades. So let's get this over.
I hope the Jets don't go QB in round one. That would send Hack shaky mental state into over drive. I'm not really liking any of these QB's this year. The topper will be Macc getting blasted in the media for the Hack bust. Yes, we need a QB but the circus atmosphere right now is heightened. It will be tough for ?/Petty/Hack to deal with.
Why rush it? Sit back, pour yourself a sipper, pack your pipe with whatever makes you mellow, and embrace the suck like it deserves. For a good long time, and forever. I think Jets fans are doing it wrong. Getting angry at the suck is needless waste of energy. You need to embrace what the Jets do well. They are great at sucking, bro. We need to learn to savor the suck. We're in for a good 5 years at least, you have to watch their moves, see the failure in motion, sit back, crack a smile, and say "There you go, fellas, that's my Jets." They do it very well. It's not like the Browns, who run around with their hair fouled up with goose shit and their short pants around their ankles, begging someone to kick them in the face. No, the Jets put on a 3 piece suit, straighten their tie in the mirror, and tell themselves, "It's time to show these amateurs how to do this right." Go out, and build a beautiful ship with a bottom made from 10,000 layers of toilet paper. Go out, and build a supersonic bomber with wings that can't withstand descent speed. The Jets build an impenetrable shell around a self-exploding yolk. They do it artfully. It's actually worth appreciating.
If Hack (or Petty) has a shaky mental state and difficulty dealing with the "circus atmosphere", why would you want them as QB?
http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-j...career-backup-qb-chase-daniel-will-visit-jets JAG QB. There is no question we bring in another QB, just a matter of when. This is another guy they are bringing in that assures we are going to give the young guys a shot. Anyone but Cutler, Romo or Cap and I am happy with it.
Like it or not, he's one of the better FA options. Obviously not perfect, but none of them are. Personally, this is a better option than a 38 year old Mccown w/18-42 record as a starter, a headcase in Kapernick, or a malcontent in Cutler who will cost too much. He's cheap, it allows Petty/Hack to still compete, and the guy has a chip on his shoulder and believes he should start.
I wonder if Macc put a job listing on Jobsinsports.com? Looking entry level Quarterback. Job responsibilities include but not limited to: Holding a clipboard, running scout practice team, providing moral support for younger less experienced quaterbacks. Positive attitude and no other options a must. Appreciation of the color green and shitty winter weather is a plus. Compensation: DOE
Disagree that he's a better option than McCown. You look back at where McCown has played and although he never put up W's, you can find plenty about him being a mentor and a leader in the locker room. Chase Daniel is just another dude, that's all. He brings absolutely nothing to the table other than a shot at a good pick.
I am one who does not necessarily want to field a team to tank but to be competitive. With that said I could not care less who this qb is. Does it really matter if it's Joe blow, Vinny off his couch or even Bilel Powell. The general fanbase here would prefer to have our rookies fight it out. If we bring in someone who shows some form of competency that could be in jeopardy. I think that's why Mac is looking at bottom feeders and to some degree most should appreciate that. The young guns have to step up. I myself would prefer we just look at a Nathan Peterman in the third round and have the three compete. This is a youth movement no matter how we look at it and I don't think there would be much difference between having a chase Daniels or a Peterman other than the fact you know Daniels sucks and Peterman you can sit and develop. If it does not work out no worse for wear. Not like it's a first or second round pick.
I agree when Macc passed on Foles he was saying "There are no FQB in the FA market" (duh, there never are). Soooo Macc is left to draft a QB high as you speculate, or he has real faith in what he already has in Hackenberg. If he's happy with Hack, then he could bring in a 3rd arm off the FA market just to be a 3rd arm. But Macc has to be concerned that Bowles will play this 3rd arm over Hack from day 1 because "He gives us the best chance to win" bull shit.
That is exactly why I feel he is taking his sweet time and letting decent QB's get signed...He needs Bowles to field his picks and not the guys near retirement or that no other team want as 3rd string backups.
That's all kind of hear say when it comes to Mccown. Who has he developed by being a mentor (Glennon?, Manziel?, RG3?)? He's going to be learning a new offense like the other 2 guys. Granted, he could be a great locker room guy. Sanchez had the Stetson Man (Mark Brunell) for years, that didn't exactly pan out. In the NFL, I personally believe that "mentoring" is sometimes overblown by us fans. These guys are professional competitors, they aren't guidance counselors.
Agreed, this JAG has less starting experience than Petty. If anything this signing would give me a reason to believe that the kids will have a chance to start.
