thats cool that we have cheerleaders, but isnt it illegal for the stadium? (due to space and safety regulations..)
theyre not technically cheerleaders. we pretty much replaced the weird mid 30's guys who run crazed with the huge JETS! flags with young women.
Yeah, the girls started out just running with the flags, and standing around in between. Then the next game, they still ran with the flags, but instead of just standing around the girls had pom-poms and helped the crowd cheer. I guess Woody found a loophole to get around the rules, lol. Go Woody!
This is good news, but it brings up something that Mangini may not know about... the Cheerleader Professionalism factor. As Gregg Easterbrook (Tuesday Morning Quarterback from Page 2 on ESPN.go.com) has pointed out, Cheerleader Professionalism decides games. In cold weather, if your cheerleaders come out in long sleeves and bulky clothing, your team will lose. If the cheerleaders come out in skimpy (or at least form fitting) outfits, you will win. Someone needs to make sure Mangini knows about this, otherwise we risk angering the football gods.
This could be the one and only time you'll ever see "Mangini" and "form fitting outfit" in the same paragraph. I hope so, anyway.
boo to the cheerleaders! I say boo to the cheerleaders. I always like the fact that we were the only team in the AFC that didn't have any. In fact, it worked in two ways for us: One, it was a touch of class with the social elites that we were so enlightened, and two, it spoke to the blue-collar crowd as we didn't water down our love for football with the distraction of cheerleaders. On a personal note, I will probably never see a home Jets game so the issue probably shouldn't be decided by someone like me. However, it was one reason I could get my wife to support the Jets... now I'm down to just the 500 to 1 odds I got on a super bowl bet I got in Vegas before the season.
I don't know...that green rain suit he wore in NE was pretty form fitting, which I guess brought on all those watermelon comparisons in the game thread
When's Woody gonna finish what he started ... lets get these flag girls in a calendar. Just look at a picture of Woody, he looks like that guy in the corner at a gogo bar by himself and he knows all thw girls by their stage name and when they work.
This reminds me of when Lou Holtz became coach and decided the jets needed a Team Song...ouch, the dark days! I love hot babes and all, but I just see it as one more thing CBS can focus on rather than the GAME!

For those of us who actually get laid on a regular basis, watching girls on TV isn't all that important. BTW, you may want to familiarize yourself with the psychological principle of "Projection"! Just messin with ya sparky... seriously though, look it up.
