I prefer to spend my money on alcohol when watching this team. It numbs the pain and if I drink enough, sometimes I don't even remember the game !
Read in the Post today Bubba Bowles calling for Glennon (I think) to join the party.. Jets coach Todd Bowles said the team could add a veteran quarterback when free agency begins next week, but Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg also will get a crack at the starting job. Guess 2017 will have 7 wins now.?..that's way too many for an 2018 QB draftee daern
I think we are looking for a third body to put on the roster. Being in a full rebuild, the cheapest one or two year option is the best . There isn't a FQB available in Free Agency. Glennon's record as a starter is 5-13 , not exactly franchise #'s . He just turned down a multi year deal for over $7 million dollar per year offer from Tampa so he is obviously looking for a multi year deal for significantly more money. We are in for a rough season regardless of who is under center. I don't think Glennon makes sense at that money.
I just posted about Glennon. Don't get the love for him. 5-13 record as a starter , 29 TD to 15 picks. Alot of those pics were late in games costing wins. He turned down a multi year deal for over $7 million per year. Even if he adds 2 - 3 wins , all it accomplishes as you said is put next year's potential FQBs out of reach.
It's easy to forget your name, the things you stand for are easy to laugh at, but certainly not worth respecting. I know you think you are smarter than I am, but let me tell you something pal, I would debate you any old day of the week
I also think Glennon wants to possibly start and with Jameis at he helm that's not going to happen. Since Marshall was cut I am inclined to agree with you that we will end up filling the QB position with a cheap body like a Brian Hoyer
I think that's what he's trying to do. Personally, I would touch him with a 10 foot pole and he would be destroyed in the New York market. Too much distraction from a player that isn't even that good if we're being honest.
John Elway not only is considered as one the best QB's in NFL history but just won a superbowl 2 seasons ago as GM. I think his background as a great QB is why Peyton Manning went there and why I could see Romo going there. There's something to be said for having a GM who was a former great player, especially at the QB position.
I've never thought Glennon was very good, so I'm not a huge proponent of his coming here. I certainly wouldn't pay him big money, but he may just be looking for somewhere he'll have a chance to start. He might be willing to sign a cheaper short-term contract (1-2 years) with some easily achieved incentives to boost its value a little, just to show the NFL that he can be a solid starter, then look to cash in on the next contract. The thing is, unless Mac and Bowles have some kind of guarantee from Woody and are planning on tanking or it doesn't matter how many games they win this year, I think the Jets are going to look for a cheaper veteran QB with starting experience. There aren't many of those. I don't keep up with other teams that closely, so the only names I know would be Glennon, Geno, Hoyer and maybe Foles, but Foles probably won't be cheap. Some of the FA QBs won't want to play for the Jets considering the unstable situation and the novice OC unless they're guaranteed the starting job. I also think that at least Mac wants a 3-way competition for the starting spot and doesn't want to bring in a vet he'd have to hand the starting job to or whom it would be too difficult for Petty or Hack to beat out. I think that would rule out Foles and many of the other FA QBs. I can't see their going with Petty, Hack and a draft pick, but hopefully, they will. If nothing else, I think Morton would want a veteran QB. Glennon's W-L record isn't very good, but his TD to interception ratio is pretty good. If it weren't for the explosion in QB salaries last season, I think Glennon would have been pretty cheap. Now, I don't know if any of them will be.
OK, thanks. I knew all of that, just thought you might have some other reason I didn't know about. The thing is, playing for a former great QB might make some QBs not want to play there. After all, people who have played the same position can sometimes be the harshest critics. I don't know anything about Elway as a GM, so don't know how hands off he is or if he takes a more hands on role with the QBs.
From all accounts, Peyton had nothing but good things to say about him, I would assume Romo would be the same way. After all, if you plug Romo on Denvers roster, they again catapult to instant contenders assuming he can stay healthy, which in my opinion, is a big if.
Geno is terminally stupid. He could have the physical skills of Joe Montana and it wouldn't matter In fact, I'm amazed he hasn't licked antifreeze off his driveway and died Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
He actually does have the physical skills of Montana. And he's not stupid, just inconsistent and immature. He never publicly complained after losing his job to Fitz, and maybe all the bad stuff the last 2 years has matured him. If we can bring him on an affordable short contract, we should do it, and have a 3 way battle for the starting gig. This team HAS to know what they from their young QB's. TB could've done more on that last year but every time he started the young guys got hurt and they had keep putting Fitz back in, which probably explains why Hack didn't play the last game.
Honest question.... If you are inconsistent AND immature, how the fuck are you not STUPID? Honestly, what's left past inconsistency and immaturity for you to finally conclude Geno is a shit for brains scumbag?
I was honestly in the Jets will resign Geno camp, strictly due to the low cost, but now, reading he may not be ready for the start of camp, I think they will finally move on.
