PVR'd it last night, watched it this evening (eminently preferable to the Oscars ) when the ticker announced that Mangold had been released. Martin is the picture of both dignity and humility, often not seen in an athlete so successful. I was especially touched with how, through the strength of his faith, he was able to help his mom forgive his dad after all the years of him being nothing more than a user, a wife-beater, and an all-around bastard. It was quite reaffirming to learn of the man and his life, and great to see again some vid clips of his marvelous skills on the field.
Good man. Nice to see a good person get rewarded. Also credit to Bill Parcells for realizing this and getting Martin to NY. It was a bit outside-the-box for both parties and they made it happen.
