LMFAO For once this dumpster fire team should get it right Tank in 2017 and grab one of the two Cali QBs in 2018 IMO we should let hack and petty play for fun...but of course that wont happen The FO should take the WORSE guy available ( lol now that will prob happen anyway)...think about it or be stuck in the NYJ vortex forever
I agree with you. I differ a little. I'd sign Glennon or Taylor at the right price. If I get neither let Petty and Hackenburg take their licks and go 0-16 and draft the Cali qbs. If Cutler or Romo are here I won't watch. I don't want a washed up interception prone player. I want to sign a guy with potential but also if he stinks we can cut loose and draft a qb.
If we have to sign yet another veteran QB instead of opting for a proper rebuild, I'd rather get the guy who isn't a complete turnover machine when healthy. But Romo would never come here in a million years, and I don't blame him. So with that, welcome to NY, Jay. Ugh.
fuck me if they trade for Cutler it's gonna be difficult to watch. Today laConfora had an interesting, well I guess you could say interesting, article "Jay Cutler will have suitors but no one is trading for the next Ryan Fitzpatrick" "As to what his actual market might look like, let’s start with the Jets. As I first reported well before the Super Bowl, Jets execs have some interest in him as a bridge quarterback. They believe he can play in the elements that are a reality in the AFC East, and they like his moxie and arm talent. And that was well before the Jets hired Jeremy Bates as their quarterback coach. Bates worked with Cutler as a youngster with the Broncos and always has been a big believer in him. I thought long ago the Jets were a likely landing spot, but it will have to be at their price, especially after the Fitzpatrick disaster." http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/j...one-is-trading-for-the-next-ryan-fitzpatrick/ Fuck me. also I gotta say the Fitzpatrick comparison he makes is a terrible one. Fitz is a hard working, smart but physically limited QB. Cutler was blessed with god given arm talent and he pisses it away with a piss poor attitude and possibly nothing between the ears. They both turn the ball over alot. Okay, that makes them comparable to every bad quarterback that ever played
Neither Cutler nor Romo are worth the investment of a draft pick at this point. If either winds up on the free agent market and wants to come to NY on a deal that doesn't tie the Jets down past 2017, well flying pigs still turn into bacon and ribs if you can catch them.
i thought greeny said it best this morning " cutler and romo are for teams that are a qb away, the jets are a roster away from competing"
Not sure why everybody is against Cutler. He is 34 (not 37 like Romo) and actually had a really good year when he was healthy in 2015. I personally think an offense with Cutler, Enunwa, Anderson, Decker, and Fournette would put up some points. If Bowles and McCagnan could somehow fix the secondary we could actually have a fun team to watch.
Am I the only one who wants to see what Greg McElroy can do with an entire preseason working with the 1st team?
I think signing Cutler will be enough to put me over the edge. On the bright side I won't have to wait long to see who they pick in the first round in '18.
Because he's a numbskull. He has a $10 million arm and a $.10 brain. Because he's a jerk. And because the team doesn't have the CS or talent to be truly competitive this season. They have a ton of holes. Wake up.
