I'm really concerned McCagnan is going to give big money to Glennon

The only QB situation worse than the Jets is Houston and signing Glennon would be the equivalent of signing Brock the Cock.

I would like to think McCagnan isn't this stupid, but then I remember the Hackenberg pick and I get worried.

For those of you who think Glennon would be a good option please get a clue. Tampa thought so much of this guy that they signed Josh McCown.

If he comes cheap enough, it might not be a bad idea. Cheap with a 1 year offer.

He's going to want minimum two years guaranteed at 13-17 million.

Big money would be stupid and a huge strike against Mac. But if he signs him for something reasonable why not? Geno shoudln't be back, Petty hasn't shown enough to give him the keys and Hack is a huge ???. He has shown flashes so if we can get him cheap might was well throw him into the mix and see what happens. I also expect us to pick at least one qb in the draft. Law of averages, eventually one has to work out. keep the Qb trian rolling until one does.

All depends on price. As bad as Fitz was he only cost us 12M, as opposed to Osweiler who's going to cost Houston 3-4 times as much. So if we can get Glennon for Fitz money, why not? But if we have to give him starter money, no way.

    Why it's a bad idea

    1. It doesn't get you any closer to winning a championship or finding a long term answer at the position.

    2. Signing Glennon comes with significant cap ramifications and also blocks a young guy from developing. Bring in a guy like Hoyer who could be that bridge and cost less.

    3. Law of averages is for losers. Glennon is 5-13 as a starter and has a pathetic 6.5 YPA in his career. The guy sucks!

Glennon at 2 years 30 million or Hoyer at 1 year 5 million

No point in Hoyer, we'd be better off playing Petty or Hack as we aren't going to win anything next year anyway. If the second year of the Glennon deal is guaranteed, no. If it's only the first year, I'd consider it if the new OC loves him. But knowing the Jets, that would probably be a bad thing lol.

    1) That's an asumption that ignores my point of piling on QB's until we find one
    2) Significant cap rimifications? I literally cover this in my first two sentences.
    3) Cause the New York Jets have an illustrious history of winning. Again, load up on QB's until one works out.

What is the market for Glennon. Who else is going to bid up his price. I doubt Cleveland wants him. Maybe SF, Tennessee or Chicago. The Jets might be his only oppurtunity to start. There are a lot iffy QBS that might be out there in Kap, Cutler, Geno, McCown, Fitz, Romo, Hoyer, and maybe even Cousins.

Glennon might have a hard time finding a market. He very well might end up signing as a backup.

Draft your quarterback and develop him. The Final 4 teams did that, the 4 teams they beat had 2 drafted QBs and 2 signed as Free Agents or traded for(Smith made sense since SF had 2 QBs at the time). The 4 teams before that had drafted QBs in Stafford, Carr, Manning and Tannehill.

    Develop your own QBs.

Jethro. You sure Macc is throwing boatload of cash to Glennon? Isn't that Elvis he's trying to [resurrect]? I'm confused.

For the money he's apparently going to command, no chance. As it stands now, I want Tyrod Taylor if available or Deshaun Watson.

I want to think Mac is smart enough not to throw big money to another teams trash in Glennon or Cutler or any other QB.

I am hoping he is a quick learner FJF. I am as deflated as a Tom Brady doctored football. Dear Mac, please don't give huge contracts to aging vets and stopgap players.
