Menace ,can you imagine the fallout from this next year ? I can see it all now, just look at this board and listen to talk radio and read the papers and magnify all this times 10 ! Bowels will be gone the guy cannot coach plain n simple . Mac might be fired depending on what the draft and year looks like and we are at square one a year from now and starting ALL OVER AGAIN ! So instead of beginning the rebuild 3 years ago we will be starting in 2018,,,,,amazing how dysfunctional this organization is !

According to Adam Schefter: Eagles denied Jets request to interview DeFillipo for OC

Not to mention he's an intricate part to Wentz' development

I'm glad DeFilippo is no longer a candidate. He was a JAG qb coach job hopper. Next!

Here's a thought. He didn't want the interview and the Eagles are providing him cover. Bowles went for him because he wasn't a threat to his HC position.

Eagles blocked because they knew there was a strong chance he'd job hop to the Jets. Blessing in disguise for us.

It's amazing how much players influence the general perception of position coaches.
DeFilippo couldn't develop Jamarcus Russell, Mark Sanchez, Terrelle Pryor, or Johnny Manziel when they were starting out, as they just weren't good NFL QB's regardless of coaching.

Then he works with a rookie Carr and a rookie Wentz, and now he's considered some QB development guru in demand for OC positions? smh

He might be a good coach with the right talent, but I'm glad he's not coming to the Jets. it's too risky a hire right now.
it's probably best for both him and Wentz if he stay in Philly..

    Agreed !

Let's now go get an experienced OC. Not someone who will be learning on the job.

I'm all for McCoy. Hell bring his entire offensive staff with him. The problem in SD wasn't scoring points.

You guys do know if the Eagles weren't willing to let him go that means he's probably good at what he does right?

I understand wanting someone with experience but don't act like he's beneath the Jets.

the Eagles will probably lose their OC Reich, and it would be good to keep some continuity for Wentz.
He's got more value in Philly than he'd have here imo..

More experience makes more sense for the Jet's situation.
If we had a Sean Payton, or even a more proven QB, than I'd be more apt for giving a younger guy like Defilippo a shot here.
But with Bowles being less involved with the offense, and having really green QB options, I'd much prefer a more proven track record to develop something.

Master Chan advising Bowles to hire his twin brother...hah

Seriously..if Norv Turner arrives here it will be a miracle

Bowles will find an OC with a break out season in the CFL

How about Art Briles? Reuinite him and Petty.

Honestly I think Mac is hoping that Bill O'Brien gets fired so he can bring him in to be "coach in waiting".

Apples to oranges. The Eagles HC Pederson is an offensive-minded coach, so DeFilippo won't have to run the offense by himself like he would here.

Pederson is more of a CEO type coach. He lets Reich run the offense obviously he has input but he trusts the guys he's put in charge.
