How is making a trash qb look average a bad thing? If he can get an average qb, then he should be that much better no?
What I would question about him is this: he was the QB coach for Oakland for the 2014 year with Carr, but he left and Oakland didn't try to keep him, and Carr got better in 2015. 21TD, 12 INT in 2014, then 32TD 13 INT in 2015, better completion percentage too (58% to 61%). Ron
If he had anything to do with bringing Carson Wentz along then he is without question worthy of consideration
It's funny you bring up that GIF because we were totally getting our asses kicked by McCown and the Brows prior to that play.
I fully expect a wasted year and the entire staff to be purged after next season so who cares who the OC is.
Then Manziel threw that TD on us a little later on. I look pretty bad for supporting Bowles hahah, but what can ya do
Eh let's wait and see 1) who we sign 2) what his philosophy is and 3) how it pans out at least through preseason before we start judging. Since we're not overhauling the coaching staff, it only makes sense to go young with the coordinator and maybe develop our own head coach of the future like McAdoo. That could be the angle we're going with here. He's bounced around a lot but I like the idea that he's been in a variety of roles including offensive quality control, QB coach and offensive coordinator.
Well, he's probably about as good as this sorry franchise is going to be able to do, No way we're getting someone like Norv Turner or Mike McCoy in her who actually knows what the heck they're doing.
As much as I'd like to get McCoy, he'd be a one year rental. If we're truly going to try to rebuild this franchise and staff with two young quarterbacks under contract we need to find someone who will be here for more than a season before they're being interviewed a ton as a head coach next year. For what it's worth too, McCoy had a ton of talent on that roster in San Diego this year and they just found a way to lose at an unparalleled rate. Rivers also had two of his three highest interception rates under McCoy so it's not like he's a slam dunk anyways.
Do you remember that game? McCown was picking our defense apart up until that play. Then Manziel came in and looked decent for a bit. Not the best argument. EDIT: Point made above.
The Jets franchise QB isn't on the roster today so it doesn't matter what inept POS OC we bring in here next year. We tank next year and hope to pick in the top 3 in 2018 to take Darnold, Jackson or Rosen.
Whats funny is I forgot what it looked like to see Pryor hustle like that. Lol what the fuck happened this year
