I love these threads that make no sense and arent based in any facts. This is how we find out who are the real JETS fans are. If you are so fedup with the team you dont have to be a fan.
And these same whiners will be dancing in the streets, telling everyonbe how they supported th eteam thorugh all the bad years, and blah blah blah. People like that are pathetic, IMO. They define their own existance through misery and uselessness.
I just don't get what you Darksiders are after. I mean, don't you want to see your team win? Are you perpetual manics? Nothing, absolutely nothing, seems to please you. I mean, after you get laid do you say, "That was good, but I probably caught a disease"? Here we have a brand new look in its infantsy and you are trying to throw as many rocks as you can threw the thing before it even has drafted one player. I just don't get it. Why can't you just sit back and observe for a while and see what happens? Let's face it, we were going nowhere with Herm except down. At least now, things can change. Just give it a chance. I am not guarranteeing success, but I think there is a realistic chance at success.
If we don't draft a QB or RB in the 1st round, the fans won't have anyone to cheer. All we need is yet another 1st round spend on the pathetic DL or even worse spending $6+ million a year on an unproven OL.
Fans cheer for teams and wins, not individual players. This is not the NBA, where "stars" are the only thing that sells. Plus the Jets are sold our forever. There is no need to "draw" fans. Winning teams are built in the trenches and the Jets OL is in need of a complete makeover.
How in the world Barton makes this list of "dead wood" is beyond me. Did you see him play in 2004???? Did you notice how much speed and playmaking ability he added to the defense??? Did you notice how the addition of Barton and Vilma changed the Jets' defense from one of the worst in the league to one of the best???? Barton played at a Pro-Bowl level in 2004 and had one of the greatest games I have ever seen a Jet defensive player have against Seattle. Are you going to hold that one brain freeze of a moment against San Diego against him for the rest of his career? Or is that once a player is injured, he's done in your eyes?
that is the play at teh goal-line on 4th down that gave SD another chance to win/tie... that play almost screwed up our season. I like the guy & his mentality, but we cant have plays like taht
the realists were on the money about dracula and the herminator. tha darksiders were the ones who saw no evil, heard no evil, spoke no evil..... :shit:
You're arguing with a guy who said that one of the team's needs is a "decent MLB". Better off banging your head against the wall a few times and arguing with the couch.
I did not see any real rocks thrown just that the starter of thread said that due to what you outlined the "supposed" D/siders whomever they maybe will have to complain about this season. No difference then how the "supposed" sunshiners give us hope every day that we are now SB bound.
We have a winner! So far I have seen so signing, trade or release that has or will improve this team. Even the release of Law wasn't that great. We saved $4 million on the cap, but you can't sign an equal player for $4 million so it is another downgraded position from last year. For all the hype the new braintrust has actually accomplished nothing but release some of the leaders and best players on the team. Even when Abe is traded it will be just another downgrade. And the signing of Chad was a waste of $3 million. Sure we saved some cap this year but he will still count against our cap next year, so the saving is wiped out. All we did was delay the hit for another year. (Can you say June 1st cut!) If we had released him now we would have pulled off the bandaid all at once and given fresh air to the cut we call our QB position. Fresh air makes it heal faster, but now we are stuck with a scared weak armed QB that is getting $3 million and not even garranteed the starter. We have done nothing positive and if we sign an OT for $6+ million at #4 we will be making a bigger mistake than when we traded up to draft Robertson.
JetsFan ANYBODY, darksider or NOT who HONESTLY in their RIGHT MIND thinks this team will be competing for anything other than ANOTHER top 10 pick in '07 is fooling themselves so it's not about the Darksiders ruling so much as REALITY ruling, this team is REBUILDING bottom line. We are starting over!
Well thanks for the kudos & if you are saying there is far more deadwood on this team then players I AGREE with you. As for Chad my understanding is his last contract was voided & he signed a new one for 1 year for a 3M gurantee + 6 million in incentives which means if he is cut THIS year his hit is 3M & if he he is cut next year his hit is zero. So if I am correct then the FO gets kudos for playing some hardball finally. As for whom will be drafted & where you can not rap them until the fat lady sings on 4/29. I am concerned that they have not seen at least IMHO the need to trade JV NOW as he will never get us a championship being to small, not strong enough & has no blitzing or pass coverage talents either. Oh well some say you have to crawl before you walk so maybe in the next few weeks the lites will go on big time.
You can't lump all Darksiders together....... Most Darksiders have rest their criticism back to zero once Herm and Bradway were axed... Being a Darksider before that was fullly warranted. Being a Darksider now is nothing but being IRRATIONAL.
