Short week and just as we expected since Week 1: Matt Moore vs. Bryce Petty Okay, not exactly what we expected. It's a fun Saturday Night home game though. Division Rivals. Miami in the playoff hunt. Currently the 7th seed, but if they win out they will get in. Can the Jets win and keep Miami out? Can Petty build on yesterday's win? Can the Jets look good at home for once? Plenty of questions. Should be more fun than the last few home games. Who ya got?
I actually think the Jets will wreck havoc on him, and only give up a few medium pass plays, and Ajayi runs. I don't expect the Jets offense to do much, but overall I'm expecting a similar game to yesterday. Jets 17 Dolphins 14.
I agree the Jets Defense will play a big role. If they can play well, the Jets can win. If not: could be a blow out. I think they will step up too for some reason.
I'm not so sure benching Petty's security blanket is a good idea. I'd like to see him focus on other Wr's who are open and I have a feeling they'll address that during the practice and film sessions. Once he learns how to go thru all his reads and perhaps throwing the ball away on a dead play, he's gonna surprise a lot of people.
No. He's about the only WR Petty has developed any sort of chemistry with. [This must be why Petty throws at him near god damn every time. Doesn't happen with Shitz.]
Maybe if TB had given Petty more reps with the starters, he would have developed some chemistry with them. As it was, Petty only had Anderson to practice with and running the scout team.
Precisely. It's not just about being comfortable throwing at the said receiver. The receivers don't know how to play for Petty either. Case in point? Look at two plays. One play before the game-tying FG, Petty had wide open Enunwa running corner route into the end zone - that's the side Petty was scrambling too. If he knew where Enunwa was, Petty surely would have thrown for go-ahead TD. The problem? Petty didn't see Enunwa. Or - Enunwa didn't know how to make himself visible to Petty there either. The next big play comes in the over time - that's the play where Petty was scrambling left, then flipped the stance and threw against his body for big 26 yard gain. Jets scored TD during the ensuing play. Who received the ball? Yes. Robbie Anderson. Petty found him - or as Petty would say, Anderson somehow knows how to make himself visible. That's chemistry, in my opinion.
That's a very good point. Again, I think it will be a rough game to watch, and that it will come down to the final minutes.
I wouldn't mind Shitz back in there actually. If this OL cannot handle Dolphags front seven, maybe it's in our best interest to protect the kid. Shitz can take the beating for Petty - he's gone next year no matter what.
He is due. That is for sure. I remember his Pick-6 against Brandon Marshall's Dolphins on MNF a few years back. Maybe he can do it on SNF!
