I've been around long before Kotite. This is absolutely the worst game I've ever seen the Jets play. Bowles got in the face of the Defense and spouted off , but it's much too late to have any effect. Bowles has got to go, along with most of the CS.
2 Kottite lead seasons 3-13 and 1-15 2 Bowles lead seasons 10-6 and 3-9 Not even close in my book Kottite was terrible at the end of his career with the Eagles before he came to the Jets and was even worse with us!!! This year has been bad, but it pales in comparison I'm afraid. I am not advocating that Bowles should however stay though.
Mac WASTED two high picks on a little twerp that got torched for two touchdowns and cannot make the defensive calls to save his life and a 5 years reclamation project. We have NO ONE who can help this team win this season. This is what passed me off about Mac? He did nothing to help this team win this season knowing that the Jets would be facing one of the top schedules. He definitely deserves some of the blame. He was an asshole with the draft and it has cost this team...............
No, Keyshawn's Damn Book came out during Parcells' first offseason when he was jealous at Chrebet getting attention. Parcells had the #1 pick and traded down twice to get James Farrior. Could have just drafted Orlando Pace but he had Jumbo and cap problems. He did draft Van Dyke but that wasn't a high pick.
Revis had 5 ints and 4 fumble recoverys last year...nothing makes sense this season. The best offense in franchise history to the Kotite years in one year. Its amazing to think about
not a big deal--but KOTITE drafted keyshawn with his first pick in 1996 and then KOTITE took Van Dyke with the first pick in the second round in 1996. Van Dyke was such a stupid pick because he was not that good and the jets had keyshawn, chrebet and graham. After going 3-13 they had tons of needs and another WR after Keyshawn was not one of them.
Yeah, Farrior. I said Lagemann in an earlier post, but it was Farrior and a bunch of stiffs instead of Manning or Pace or Walter Jones. Granted that Parcells had Jumbo, but Jumbo was at the end of his career. I forget who played RT, but Pace or Jones could have played RT for a year or two then taken over for Jumbo.
Since I had to work last night, I properly programmed my DVR to record the game. When I got home I saw that it hadn't recorded, but the pregame show was. Even my TiVo knew better than to record that trainwreck of a game.
That 1-15 season will forever be burned into my psyche. I'll never forget coming home from vacation on the Sunday morning of opening day, super-excited about the start of the new season (I remember being really excited to see Neil O Donnell throw to Keyshawn). And Denver absolutely fucking destroyed us. We lost 31-6 and I remember we were scoreless in that game for what seemed like forever.
This isn't worse than the Kotite Era based on pure W/L record, but for me, after over half a century of rooting for them and being perennially disappointed, it's getting close to the last straw. The good thing about the Kotite Era is that it's long ago over, while the Bowles Era is here and now. Like the gall bladder attack I had 10 years ago was the worst pain that I ever felt, but while I remember that it was, I no longer feel it. But if I dropped a large rock on my foot that pain would feel worse than my memory of the GB attack. I just wish this was as simple as moving the rock off my foot.
This has been an awful season. It goes a bit deeper then wins and losses, with things like the bearded failure publicly bashing the organization after being benched, Revis/Wilkerson deplorable play, Sheldons video, and the appearance that many players have simply mailed it in. May be the worst culture/moral problem I've seen with this team, including Kotite and Ryan. Zero accountability all the way around. It'll take whoever comes in a while to put this dumpster fire out.
Certainly worse than Rex's last season - I've never seen a Jets team quit like this. The lack of effort is the hardest thing to watch. Not as bad as the Kotite year though.
Kotite was by far much worse. That being said, TB is a very - as in VERY - bad HC. His team is in disarray and he is clueless how to fix it. He was supposed to clean up the REX mess with respect to culture but it seems to me to have gotten worse... Like his team they all have regress beyond mediocrity to just plain a bad FBT.
Kotite had 4 wins in 2 seasons. This team has matched that in this season alone, not to mention the 10 wins last season. I agree generally that this season blows. But Kotite is a legend at being awful, and to compare the two is an insult to the Kotite legacy.
He absolutely needs to be fired but we better be able to hire a real coach this time and not some piss poor coordinator who will be in way over his head as bowels is now.
