I want to see what Hack can do with some confidence and reworked mechanics. He goes through his progressions like no one else on the roster. He has an arm like no one else on the roster. This is a guy who can run play action to the right side of the field, turn around and fire a laser 15-20 yards down the field on the opposite sideline with velocity. Seen him do it at Penn State plenty. A guy who will find the open man and just needs to keep his feet and his jersey clean to get them the ball. He needs to work on his pocket presence, needs to own his pocket. Stop being so statuesque and fire with defender coming down on top of him for the strike. Really hope he's starting this kind of training now.
I've always liked Romo. They should not pass on any QB prospects available to them in the draft but if they SERIOUSLY believe in Petty or Hack being a year or two away I'm fine with Romo Build (a wall) the o line, patch SOMETHING together on defense, and let Romo go out there with the talent we have at wr and rb.. Doesn't bother me. I don't see how it hurts us (again if we have no draft prospects and the kids aren't ready)
I do agree in the fact that we need to start just patching a defense together. We've tried the defense wins championship thing for 16 years and counting now. No championships to speak of. Let's build the great show in the swamp and stop trying to build the greatest run defense ever. Realistically we're taking a corner or edge rusher though so we might as well get rid of that dream.
It hurts us because there's no way he would stay healthy for longer than 5 minutes behind our OL, and even if he did, this team is going nowhere next year. Why tie up a bunch of cap $s in him when he would be a one-year rental, when they could possibly sign several younger FAs who could address needs and help the team for several years.
I was thinking exactly this. I'm fine with drafting mostly offense for awhile at the top. We keep bringing in these defensive guys and got nothing to show for it not even a decent defense hell not even any great players (Revis was obv)
Teddy Bridgewater career is probably over as that injury he had was very severe . If by some miracle he ever does come back , it will take a couple years . Very long recovery time, and isn't something he has any chance of playing in 2017.
You're out of your mind if you the Jets would only get a 7th rounder for Devin Smith. He was a high 2nd round draft pick just last year. Despite a rough start, his speed was never in doubt. Fitz could never hit him in stride either. The price for him would definitely be higher than a 7th rounder, that's absurd.........
But he is and therefore Mac should stay away from him. It wouldn't serve us well to spend top dollar on a guy that might last for a few games at the most......
He's talking out of his butt. He has a chance to be back for the start of the 2017 season, no one is sure yet.
