They actually were trying to keep Petty focused by not getting in his ear. They did have kind words for our fledgling Qb as well.. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2016/11/why_jets_brandon_marshall_didnt_talk_to_bryce_pett.html
Marshall really has been great for this organization since he's been here. I really hope Petty utilizes him more going forward. He can make Bryce Petty's job a lot easier if Petty lets him.
Interesting report today that Bowles is afraid if he starts Petty off the buy week , the vets will cash it in and stop playing the rest of the season. I didn't realize they had started playing as of yet.
Any player that "cashes it in" if Petty starts needs to check his paycheck, and give proper effort to win.
I said in another thread and I say again, bowels should be fired for even making that comment whether it was tongue in cheek or not..in print it is horrible and i have no idea if he was kidding anyway.
Well, one thing about that is that it would make it really easy to tell who should be traded/released - anyone who "checks out" can just keep on walking at season's end.
It doesn't sound like he actually said that, just that someone is speculating it. Sounds like bullshit.
That statement tells me how massively over his head he is. If he has some prima donnas that dog the game it's time to fix the problem. We have a pretty good young group of guys that are looking for leadership, not some BS artist set of vets without enough pride not to try to win every game
