Because those stats are not at all indicative of how he played. I'm actually very convinced you did not watch the game. His TD was a screen call at the right time. He was bad. He missed on a ton of throws and looked no better than he usually does. Jets won because of the offensive line and defense. That is all.
The excuses of a Genophile. Amazing. Your hero failed. Fitzy came in and saved his bacon. Jets win, you lose.
Who gives a shit if Fitz works? This isn't the NY Fitz website. It's the NY JETS website. We all should want what's best for the Jets, and it certainly isn't Fitz.
Koopa is one million times the Jets fan you will ever be. Take your trolling act elsewhere. No one likes you or respects you.
You got that right--either cut him or make him run the scout team, the loser. Missed minicamp thinking he deserved so much more money--he is a loser in the NFL--several of us posted this summer NOT to bring him back since he is not the future of the jets--of course fitzpatrick had all the leverage because LAST YEAR toilet bowles proclaimed Fitz his 2016 starter "if he comes back." Quite a proclamation in defense of a journeyman with a rag arm. I always thought Bowles is a poor talent evaluator--after sheldon's monster game at DE against the ravens yesterday watch bowles move him back to his unnatural position as linebacker soon and see what happens.
There were also decent throws that were dropped or the DB made a great play. I'm not saying he played great, but awful is a bit extreme, and it was still better than Geno IMO. Also it looks like Geno has a torn ACL, so the Jets will indeed be sticking with Fitz until mathematically eliminated.
Depends on what you personally think is best for the Jets. Should we try beat the Browns for the #1 pick, Go full on development mode perhaps even start Hack come what may, try our best till playoffs are mathmatically unattainable? Bowles is saying to the press that he thinks the season is still alive so lets try feel good about Fitz. I know thats pretty damn hard and wish to god we had Rivers, Brees or even Fricking Tannehill or Cousins but it is what it is when the other options are a rusty Bryce coming off a shoulder injury and a redshirted Hack who almost everyone wants kept wrapped in cotton wool.
Oh gawd *smh* I'll give dude credit when he shows up, but lately he's sucked something awful. Just shut your mouth and play dude. Can't even wait till after this season so we can be rid of this guy
Personally at this point, I think we ought to go for the #1 pick, unless Petty wins a bunch of games. Starting Fitz increases our chances of getting that #1 pick. That said, I'd rather not have the #1 pick if we have to watch Fitz play. I want Petty playing ASAP.
This board used to ban people at the drop of a hat. This guy's been trolling all afternoon and he's still here. Strange.
Simply this: We are not (yet) eliminate from post season play, and Ftiz gives the team the best chance to win (the next 9 games in a row). Next Monday I may be calling for the Petty era to commence. But until then, we should be 'all in', which some of you obviously are not. Heck, some of you have been 'all out' since the 2016 schedule was announced. Sad, really. Why do some of you even bother?
The dreaded "best chance to win" I understand it's conventional wisdom to say the vet is your best option but I'm not giving in this time Fitz is Fitz and he gives us 0% chance to make a playoff run...so in my mind the Unknown gives us the "only" chance to win (make the playoffs) Literally our only hope would be that Petty is a stud right off the bat When healthy he needs to be the starter immediately
What makes you think that Fitz gives us the best chance to win the next 9 games in a row? Because he's a vet? To begin with, with the way our secondary and OL have been playing, we have zero chance of winning 9 straight. Next, since the Jets eschew certain routes because Fitz can't throw them without throwing picks in bunches due to his inaccurate rag arm, opponents are able to stack the box with 8 players, shutting off the underneath routes and stuffing the rushing attack. Even if the D plays at a very high level, the offense won't be able to move the ball or score enough points to come even close to winning a 3rd of those games. How many points has the offense scored under Fitz's "leadership" (and I use that term lightly with him) during the last 4-5 games? Winning 9 games in a row with that loser at QB is a joke, a sad delusional joke. Even if by some miracle they could pull it off, they'd get beaten in the 1st round of the playoffs. I, and many other Jets fans, would rather see the Jets lose the next 9 than see Fitz take one more snap for this team.
Quarterback calls out the owner, the general manager AND the head coach... start that man next week! This franchise is so unbelievably backwards.
Sad.... Is believing that a flawed team facing a monster schedule can somehow overachieve and make the playoffs. Sad.... Is thinking that a career INT machine can somehow duplicate a career year and by some magic, play up to his contract. Sad.... Is hanging your hat on 2 AFCCG LOSSES as moral victories. Kinda like Buffalo bragging about losing 4 SB's. Sad.... Is knowing that both the GM and HC suffer from acute QB blindness. Just like the prior GM and HC. Sad.... Is being warned by a rival fanbase that your OC and QB will drive you insane with their actions and have that prediction come true. Sad.... Is drinking the Spiked Green Koolaid. 9 game winning streak? Cmon man... Sad.... Is the 2016 version of the New York Jets. A team spinning its wheels on the way to nowhere.
Very true. I try not to be a fatalist. In most years, the odds are really stacked against their ultimate success anyway. All we ever really have as fans of this team is hope, and the love of the team and the game, and watching each play and each game as they unfold. Life's a journey, and you never know what is going to happen next.
A journeyman quaterbacks who has never kade A journeyman quaterback who has never led a team to the playoffs. Talk about welfare. He's been in the league longer than qb's that actually have talent. How is that? This guy has been given all kinds of chances only to prove he is what he is. Average.
