OK, that's fair. I'll agree that his awareness of pressure is pretty non-existent. One would think that if nothing else, self preservation would make it more acute, but I guess not. His ball protection definitely needs work. For me it was just nice to see a live arm and see someone actually making reads and good throws.

Between the 4 on our roster we probably have the parts for one pretty good QB.

On the plus side for Geno he didn't really harm his chances of landing somewhere else, recovery time permitting.

I feel bad for Geno. If he stays strong, he'll get a chance to catch on somewhere.

the quincy touchdown was a ball right on the money with enough zip to allow quincy to make a move before the cb could break. quiny made a geat move but throw was very good too.
agreed that he was probably going to cough one up scrambling though.

Hopefully one day you talk yourself into a ban, so we have to deal with one less shitty person here.

We are only stuck with him until Petty is ready and now that he will actually get practice snaps that may not be too long.

Geno looked good passing but he has piss poor protection of the football and his pocket awareness is very low. I don't know how you can teach him up those things. I do wish the best of luck to him, hopefully Petty Wap time is coming up

Maybe the Jets use the Mets' doctors.

Yes, but Geno doesn't have touch and the receivers aren't used to the ball coming at them that fast. It takes time for receivers to adjust to their QB and it generally takes a few years for a young QB with a strong arm to develop touch.

In any event, it just doesn't matter any more. Geno is out for the season and I don't see the Jets resigning him.

The young guys need lots of reps in practice and game time experience. Also, if Petty were unavailable, I would play Hack this year also. He needs to get NFL experience once he understands the play book. Once he understands the play book give him lots of reps in practice and get him some game experience. The kid is tough and given what he went through with Penn, I'm sure he can handle it. If you think he can't, then we shouldn't have drafted him because his experience at Penn will have destroyed him.

Also, I'm not sure his mechanics are as bad as most people think. He worked on them for months and he looked pretty good at his pro day (although he stunk at the combine a few months earlier). He also should have been working on his mechanics since the season started. Any game experience is good for him. There is no benefit whatsoever to playing Fitz right now.

Count me in as someone who feels badly for Geno. He deserved a shot to play this year. Really sucks.

Say what you want about Geno but one thing reigned true throughout his Jets career: he's a tough son of a bitch. I've seen him take some absolutely brutal shots and get right back up and keep playing. Now he takes what's universally considered to be one of the most painful injuries an athlete can suffer and tries to get back in the game, and doesn't think anything of it post game.

I'm not so convinced Geno doesn't come back now

He's going to sign somewhere cheap because of the injury and if we want to go with a Petty/Geno battle it could happen if he gets no other solid offers

Maybe in his short time here this season he showed someone something....Maybe they like that he knows the system over some other vet of equal talent

Probably better off he starts fresh somewhere else but I wouldn't count it out depending on how Petty looks among other things

Geno is going to Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion.

Maybe Andrews will say, "Not only is your ACL intact, but you're actually an awesome football player."

That would be wonderful news for us!

He needs to go an organization where he can learn how to be a NFL quarterback. Not just the X's and O's.
But also learn the mental aspect. I've always thought he was very immature as well as insecure. I hated his "I don't give a fuck" body language. He needs a mentor. I don't think he ever had that in New York. I think Bran don tried to that. But once he got into that fight, it seems like Marshall stepped away.

Yeah. He'll untap all that potential he failed to realize before the age of 26. Just like Fitz, that mid-thirties performance boost has yet to kick in....
