LOL like I care if people support switching from Fitz to Geno like it matters The same morons that said we needed Fitz back all summer going down with this ship I guess
Don't be a dolt. Brandon marshall doesn't play like he gives a crap? Do you even watch the games. Geno had 39.6 passer rating and you are on here acting like he did something. What are you his agent?
I'm not a Geno fan, but Fitz has been atrocious. It was a nice change of pace seeing a qb with some zip on his throws. And even though geno threw a pick on 4th and 11, I was happy that the pass was actually beyond the 1st down marker and towards the sidelines trying to keep it out of the defender's hands (defender made a good jump on the ball) in comparison to Fitz probably throwing to powell on a 5 yard out with him picking up only 4 after the catch resulting in a turnover on downs.
Give Geno enough time he didn't get it last night, when it is 3rd and one from the opponents 30 yd. line and he takes a 10 yd. sack we will have had more than enough of him.
We all know neither Smith or Fitzpatrick will be back next year and one more loss will make this season over for sure (if it isn't already). It's past time to see what Petty can do and you can only guess at what Bowles motivation is to keep him as number 3 at this point. If he is hurt then ok but they say he is practicing again so there is no other excuse. Are we really going top start next season with 2 QBs that have never played a down of real NFL football?
One set of downs isn't statistically relevant. And that number is biased due to Peake's fuckup. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
It's pretty foolish to criticize Geno for the INT. The guy hasn't played all year and then he comes in and has to throw on every single down ... with no Decker btw. OF COURSE he's going to throw an INT. Do some of you guys not understand that the defense has HUGE advantage at that point?? If you ever watched an NFL game in your life, you should know that those situations end in INTs about 75% of the time. I don't think Geno is the answer, but taking anything away from that performance last night is ridiculous.
Geno should start at least until the Bye Week. If he's not 2-2 or better over the next 4 games (softest part of the schedule), then Petty or Hack should get the Bye week to prepare as the starter. If nothing else, we need to evaluate what we have at QB going into next year. Mac can't be crazy enough to go into next year with 2 guys (Petty/Hack) that haven't taken a regular season snap.
I was happy to see a QB actually hit the receivers in stride. Geno did fine, the int was a good throw just a great play by the DB and poor by Peake getting outmuscled/not coming back on the route. No point wasting reps on Fitz any longer. Let's see what Geno can do being prepared all week to start.
You've got to be joking. QB's get stripped because they habitually hold the ball the wrong way. Geno does that, and look at the coverage on his interception. Shouldn't have thrown it at all, but if he is going to throw it, he has to throw it wide right so the receiver can run to it ahead of the defender, or high right closer to the receiver, but if he does that there is a chance the ball bounces off the hands and to the defender behind the receiver. It shouldn't have been thrown at all. http://www.nfl.com/videos/arizona-cardinals/0ap3000000723324/Tyrann-Mathieu-picks-off-Geno-Smith Revis gets abused by Fitgerald and then can't keep up with Johnson: http://www.nfl.com/videos/arizona-c...Can-t-Miss-Play-Johnson-dissects-Jets-defense According to Mike Lombardi, when you throw in the endzone the pass has to be low at the front of the endzone, like this: http://www.nfl.com/videos/new-engla...onk-touchdown-Gronk-first-spike-of-the-season or high at the back of the endzone. Fitz has been in the league for years and still hasn't figured that out. His int was right in the middle of several defenders: http://www.nfl.com/videos/arizona-c...Swearinger-intercepts-Fitzpatrick-in-end-zone All of these guys just suck. And you can't "play with emotion", if you do you end up like the out of control Rex teams or Cincinnati, dumb penalties & mental errors. Ron
There is nothing to take either way from what he did last night. They bring him in down 25 points when most his teammates have completely given up. Talk to me when he's actually given a start. as for his sideline demeanor? it was nice to see someone care about whats happening on the field for once. I'd been extremely pissed if I was him. You have Fitzpatrick shitting the bed every single week and the idiot coach wants to wait until everything is completely over before he makes a change.
it was 4th and 11 and he was scrambling on the run....I blame the crap Oline more than Geno. Also there was a flag on the play so even if Peake catches the ball it's coming back.
Ahhh the Genobots.....Even Paxton Lynch could come into the game in relief and play most of the game without a turnover of any kind (against Tampa a couple of weeks ago). Wake up. Ron
I assure you I'm not a Genobot lol. they can play Petty if they want I don't care. I just might puke if I have to watch Fitzpatrick again and Geno Smith can't possibly be any worse than Fitzpatrick is playing at this point
Lol I think you are confused with what I said. The interception I was taking about was genos INT at the end of the game not fitz. Genos INT was thrown as far right as it could have been without going out of bounds and would have otherwise hit peake in the hands had he not gotten beat / out muscled by HB. IT was also 4th down so he had to throw it if it wasn't 4th down he prob would have thrown it out of bounds. The fumble I already said was a bad play but not because he was in the pocket to long, the line collapsed... most QBs have longer then that and it was 3rd and long. He should have had more awareness on that play but he didn't. He also hasn't had practise or game time which is where you get that awareness. As far as the emotion I was specifically talking about how they were reacting AFTER the game or specifically how geno reacted ON THE SIDELINE. when geno went in he played with confidence and calmness which I had also mentioned so saying they are gonna come in hot headed and get lots of penalties and have mental errors is pretty dumb considering how many penalties the non emotional players got last night. I've said multiple times I'd rather Geno start next week. Doesn't mean I can't point out how much of an asshole Geno Smith remains to be.
