If THIS doesn't inspire the Jets, nothing will. 12-4. Poor guy. That's 2 head on collisions. He survived the first one (barely). Thoughts and prayers to his family, and to his Jets family.
So sad... He is such an inspiration to me. I was in a bad accident a few years back and while in rehab my best friend gave me Byrd's book. It was very touching to me and really motivated me through my struggle to try and overcome paralysis too. That Christmas i got a Byrd jersey. Everytime I wear it, I wear it with pride. Everytime I put it on in the future I will also wear it in his remembrance and appreciating the impact his story had on me. RIP Dennis Byrd
Byrd's injury happened before I was born, but I remember the address he gave before the NE game. He was an inspirational man. RIP.
As a young kid I was at the game he was paralyzed in...I had to be 4 or 5 years old but the game stuck with me, probably my first meadowlands memory I remember honestly Overall this is an extremely terrible situation but I'm happy he was still around to see his number retired Also that Pats playoff win where he gave the pregame speech and the captains carried his jersey was the best win we've probably all seen involving the Jets. Sucks he never got to see the team win it all but that win probably feels close to it RIP #90 and condolences to his friends and family...Always a Jet
An amazing story ends way, way too soon. RIP Dennis. He was a genuine inspiration for so many people.
Just woke up to this news. It's ruined my day. Inspirational is an over-used word when it comes to sports people. Not in this case. A truly inspirational man. RIP #90.
