It's a possibility... @ Cardinals - Jets are 6-2 vs the Cardinals, and haven't lost to them since 1975. Carson Palmer's career record vs Gang Green is 1-4 (including playoffs). I like our chances in this one. Jets D will play well for Bowles coming back to Arizona, and rattle Palmer into a bunch of mistakes. Jets 25 Cards 13. Game ball goes to Nick Folk for making 6 field goals. Jets defense scores a TD too. vs Baltimore - Jets are historically very bad against the Baltimore Ravens with a 1-8 record against the Ravens. They've lost their last 8 games to the Ravens. However, the Jets squeak out their first win at home this season in OT vs the Ravens. Jets 24 Ravens 21. Marty Mornhinweg's play calling for the Ravens questioned after the loss. at Browns - It's the Browns and they're good medicine for the Jets Defense. Jets 17 Browns 9. Fitzpatrick gets a concussion after getting hit on a scramble. Due to the concussion protocol, Geno Smith gets the start versus the Dolphins. at Miami - Jets have won 3 in a row now, and have beaten the Dolphins in their last 3 meetings as well. As a starter Geno Smith loves playing in Miami. He's 2-0 vs the Dolphins in Miami completing 37 of 55 passes for 548 yds, 3 TD, 0 Int. The above trends continue along with the Jets D having a huge day. Jets 27 Dolphins 7. vs Rams - Fitzpatrick gets his starting job back...despite some fans demanding Smith keep the starting job. The Amish Rifle doesn't let Coach Bowles down, has a mistake free day leading the Jets to their 5th win in a row heading into the bye week. The Jets ground game has big day with Forte and Powell each delivering a pair of touchdowns. Jets 28 Rams 18. After the Jets bye week they have 2 remaining games on the road, thus controlling their destiny to make the playoffs.
if every single player plays at their highest level we can win out the season. problem is, with this team, NO ONE is playing at their highest level and most likely no one will, thanks to coaching, chemistry, etc
I mean we should be able to go 4-1 but we'll probably go 2-3, 3-2 if we're lucky. Best case scenario 4-1 and then we're 5-5 and still on the outside looking in.
What does history have to do with this team? Leave history for the history books. The players who played and the coaches that coached those historical wins have long ago ridden off into the sunset.
you realize that we could lose to the Browns right now don't you ? If we play Arizona with Stanton at qb and lose,,,,get the pitchforks and torches ready .
As I recall, Boomer was their quarterback, but he did not play that day. I want to say that Frank Reich started for them, but I'm not 100% sure. Knowing the Jets, the win probably messed up their draft position.
Next week, Fitz is going to have three 30+ yd TDs against a weak secondary and lead the team to a blow out victory. Yes, old man Larry Fitzgerald is going to light us up. OP, you are nuts.
I don't know what to think at this point. I've seen a 10-1 Jets team implode and scrape into the playoffs as a 10-6 wild card, and I've seen them overcome a 2-5 start to win the division at 9-7. In both instances, the way the team finished the regular season could never have been imagined early in the year. So I have no idea, but I'll keep watching.
i think its more likely we lose all then win all. if palmer sits thats winnable but even without him we are underdogs. rams have looked good and baltimore is playing really well. dolhins is winnable. dont underestimate the browns either, they played alot of teams tough.
I give them a better chance to win in Arizona, than in Pitt yesterday, but I just don't trust this team to board a jet, fly across the country and be able to play with any kind of energy. I'll need to see it to believe it.
http://articles.latimes.com/1996-10-28/sports/sp-58782_1_jets-defeat This link recaps the game perfectly. Reich was the QB for the jets, and Kent Graham for the Cardinals. Richie Anderson, Adrian Murrell, Keyshawn, Nick Lowery were on the Jets back then. The Cardinals had Aeneas Williams and Rob Moore. Murrell, had a 78 yard run for a TD. I believe he rushed for 1,000 yards that season and the Jets traded him the following season.
