Yes i know yesterday sucked, nobody is denying that. Fitz single highhandedly cost us the game. We are still a talented team, it's only 3 games into the season. we are 1-0 in the division and have a game against a struggling Seahawks team with a banged up QB. On top of that, the special teams did good except the Jalin fumble. The defense was dominant, and we still have a bunch of talented WRs. I Fully expect fitz to bounce back and then people will be changing their tune, so lets not get too crazy over 1 bad game.
We aren't making the playoffs. That's the only reason why we brought Fitz back. The sky isn't falling but we get 13 more weeks to watch us go 8-8.
I wouldn't say single handedly although he was a huge part of it. But then again, last week he played great. The J Marshall fumble 6 was a big part of it as well. I still can't comment on the Jets chances of playoffs until I see the results of the first 6 games. Prior to the season I was saying 8 or 9 wins, so it's a bit early to give up now. Jailin Marhsall is beginning to look like the next Stephen Hill / Devin Smith. I also didn't understand the pass heavy game plan. Chiefs are weak against the run, but the Jets barely ran it, and for some reason they couldn't set the edge at all on D, almost the entire game. So much for the special teams revamp. They are still costing us games. The Seahawks definitely looked good yesterday, too. It won't be a pushover, that's for sure.
If the goal is to make the playoffs it's not looking good. We already have two AFC Conferenc loses after only three weeks of play. Only the Jaguars and Browns are off to a worse start while N.E, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Houston, Denver, K.C and Oakland all have better records and even Cincinnati at 1-2 hold the H2H tie breaker over us. So unless we go 3-1 during our next 4 games vs Seattle, @ Pittsburgh, @ Arizona and vs Baltimore we'll be playing for a 2017 draft pick.
The problem is that this is such a "win-now" team. We are talented and veteran-laden. And we play like we can afford to make mistake after mistake after mistake. And, we have as tough a schedule as anyone in football. And, we have already lost a game that we should have won.
Seahawks are hard to construe as "struggling" when they had the biggest blowout of the day yesterday. And have probably the best D in football. Wilson being banged up is in our favor, but that's about it. If you just threw 6 picks yesterday, it is fair to say that the Seahawks D is not the cure to what ails. I cannot possibly be as optimistic about this game as you, just saying.
I would rather we get a terrible game like that out of the way early. At least with a rock bottom performance it will highlight issues that need to be addressed and hopefully solved. A worse outcome in my opinion would have been a 1 point loss that glazed over the cracks for another week.
And what if Fitzpatrick has another bad game this week, does he get benched? I doubt it because then Maccaghan would have to explain why he wasted 12 million on a QB that couldn't survive the first four weeks.
Our defense got exposed as KC used a bunch of misdirection plays to neutralize our front. Hopefully Bowles will figure this out and fix it. Coach Bowles look lost as a head coach though. He made very very few adjustments to help yesterday. A long season may be in store. He doesn't look like a long term fix in Gotham. Chan sucked too, but our O-line is most of the problem like I have said so many times. Should have did something besides draft Quackenberg, maybe our line wouldn't be so bad. The Chiefs are a good team though, can't take anything from their performance though. It's a good thing we had all that extra time to prepare for them, otherwise we would have gotten beat much worse. Lol
How is Leonard Williams so easily fooled? It's like when you pump fake throwing a ball or stick to a dog and the dog goes sprinting away. Sheldon as well but not as bad as bird brain Williams.
Played great? Where do you come up with that? Ok the first two games, but yesterday were exposed all game. Watch the games, the line specifically, there is constant movement of the d-line into our backfield. Our left side isn't nearly as obvious as our right. They aren't wonderful though.
Youre joking right? How many sacks did they give up? Had Fitz not had time? I have no idea what team youre watching but this has been a pleasant surprise Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
Yeah, of all the units that could easily attract well-deserved scrutiny, I would say that the O line along with Forte are the only bright spots...
