This is one of the most devastating sports stories I can remember. 24 years old, incredibly bright future ahead and a baby on the way. Gone in a boating accident. I'm heartbroken for everyone close to him. RIP.

Man I am so gutted...Such a bright kid...Easily going to be worh $200 million in 2 years. I know Yankees were going to be in for him.

Feel so sad for his family and the fans. Hopefully more answers come

Just heartbreaking, I had no connection to the Marlins but this guy was one of my favorite players in all of baseball. Loved watching him pitch and play. He loved what he did and you could see it. He had overcome so much including being shot at by the Cuban Coast Guard and saving his mother's life to the Tommy John surgery. I read he was supposed to start yesterday but the Marlins pushed his start back a day for a rookie making his start. Sadly despite that they shouldn't I imagine the Marlins brass will live with guilt for that decision. Life is short, I lost my brother 10 years ago at 23 years old and it really makes you realize it could end at any moment.

Wow did not realize about his start being pushed back.. Obviously no one's fault but what can you do. My condolences, my brother is 23 right now and I could not imagine losing him. Best wishes.
