Was good to see he didn't go into his shell after the fumble. Kept his head up and made a couple of good catches. That showed character and self belief. He showed balls out there, when it would have been easy to disappear he stood up and contributed.
Bounced back nicely after the fumble.. some huge clutch catches.. making a name for himself in the passing game, at least today. Fitz said after the game "this is a smart football player that really understands the game." Note impressed with the kickoff returns but I think that is more on the entire squad than on Marshall. so far looks like a nice addition to the offense.
I absolutely love our core group of receivers. And you're right, being an undrafted rookie who just fumbled the ball being returned for 6 you could've easily imagined a player under those circumstances becoming shook. He responded with two clutch receptions shortly thereafter. It's expected for rookies to make costly mistakes but Jalin Marshall showed character tonight.
Of course. It's 5.23 am here now and I'm lying in bed typing this on the phone. Up at 7 so not much point sleeping now, but we won so alls good. 2 mins into 2nd half I had my it's 3.15 am here and I'm up watching this shit post typed out but thankfully I didn't hit "post reply" button
He really showed me something tonight, I hope he keeps it up. Our receivers are looking good, I was so happy to B Marsh back I thought he was done for the year.
No thread jack, but you can see how ticked off Mauldin was at himself for jumping early on his penalty. These guys care when they have a mishap. I respect it.
Yea, usually a young guy like that will keep his head down and not contribute after that... Not the case with him, he stepped up and make a couple of nice catches. I like what I see from him just hope he would just go down at times instead of fighting for every inch every single time, I like that toughness but you gotta know the time and place to use it.
Extremely impressed that Mac and Bowles/Gailey have somewhat instantly changed our offense to what was once a joke unto what looks could potentially become ELITE. Quincy Enunwa was an after thought coming into the season i was looking forward to what Amaro could potentially become, i was pissed when the cut Amaro because i thought hell the kids athletic we should be trying to make this work. But Enunwa literally looks 100 x better than last year and it looks legitimately like a steal in the 6th round, like are u kidding. Thank u Idzik u finally gave us something . And to add to the WR Core Marshall as an undrafted FA along with Robby and Peake the skys the limit for this scouting department, these are the players that teams have to genuinely celebrate because they're so rare. Late round and UDFAs who eventually earn playing time and starting roles.
The guy is a tough runner after the catch which you love, but it also cost him on the fumble. Needs to learn when to just give up on the play. That said, he also showed mental toughness by coming back in and making a clutch reception in the 4th quarter. It's early but we may have found a nice UDFA gem here.
He's a kid...... He's going to make mistakes..... Hopefully the good outweighs the bad....... Just waiting for us to do something, anything with the other two kid WR's
He had two tough catches. One where he got blasted literally and the other from the outside. It's clear the staff trusts him in those situations, and Firzpatrick RAVED about him, saying basically he's gonna be a star in this league....it speaks a lot. Marshall, Anderson and Peake are the future.
