Block the creation of new threads for a 24 hour period following each game, especially each loss. I come on here and get bombarded with a cesspool of reactionary threads. If I were looking for that I'd have signed up for Jetnation. As for the loss, it's Folk's fault (I'm afraid I jinxed the poor guy with my look alike post). But he's been a good kicker for years so I'm not going to call for his head. Hopefully we bounce back Thursday against Buffalo. Go Jets!
I've cooled down a bit. Really upset with Folk but it's in the past now. We absolutely must come out strong against Buffalo and not let up. Marshall needs to get involved. Positives, Q looked pretty good, definitely a WR3. Shame the WR 1+2 were missing most of the game, but hey.
Folk has made numerous big kicks for us. The blocked FG isn't on him, but he was perfect from XP last year. We've seen so many missed XPs already, he wasn't going to remain perfect. The last thing I would want to see from the Jets is an overreaction release or cut
You're still relatively new around these parts so it must seem like message board hell after a jets loss. You'll get used to it as time goes by. This is only week one. Just wait until Thursday nite when the Rexaholics make their bi-annual appearance.
Yes that should be done, JUST FOR YOU. It would probably be easier if JUST YOU didn't come here for the 24 hours, just a modest proposal.
I think it's hard for some people to just take a step back and take each game for what it is. The Jets lost by 1 point to one of the best teams in the conference... in week 1. And they would've won if not for 2 kicks under 30 yards missed by a normally reliable kicker. There's a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed but the "sky is falling" mentality after every single loss is somewhat annoying.
They were one of the best when they had Sanu and Jones. As well as Eifert. We played a downgraded Bengals team without Eifert and we still couldn't beat them lol. Hello 7-9 and a waste of a fucking season.
I hear what you're saying the thing is you can look at this game in a vacuum. When you consider our schedule (tough opponents + this was a rare home game in the first half of the season) then its a hard game to swallow
It's definitely a tough one to take in, and it could well come back to haunt us. But if the Patriots lose tonight we didn't lose any ground on anyone in the division and we'd have a chance to get a leg up on Thursday. If we lose that one to fall to 0-2 in conference, 0-1 in division and all alone in last place, with @ KC and vs Seattle coming up, then I'd be a lot more concerned. Big game this week.
I thought from the beginning of the year that this is a 7-9 team because of a brutal schedule. We are just not as good as most of the teams we face and we have only gotten marginally better on paper. This game has totally confirmed that for me. I believe this will be a year like the Yankees are having where we are going to be out of the picture by the middle of the year. I think our younger guys will surprise towards the end of the year and we get a decent draft pick with cap space. It just sucks thinking about 2017 when the season has started, but we simply do not have the talent yet to make a run.
Fitz has plenty of weapons to choose from this year. Chan has to get Fitz to spread it out a little more to keep offenses honest. Just a target or two for the kids would be cool.
If we hit 0-2, not only will expectations be lowered, the suicide watch for TGG hardcores will be on.
Rex's problem was that he didn't give Sanchez a good learning environment...... Definitely can't wait for those post this week.
Fitz is still going to be an average at best QB tomorrow. The day after that and the day after that. We didn't lose this game because of one player no matter what people say. Maybe the line shouldn't have gotten whooped on the blocked field goal. Maybe Fitz shouldn't have missed receivers so much. Maybe Marshall shouldn't have dropped that pass at the end. Maybe Decker should have gotten open more than twice. Maybe the secondary should learn how to tackle. Maybe Bowles should grow a spine on offensive playcalling.
Just because it's been this way doesn't mean it's good. Over 10 threads detailing (read: exaggerating) our problems. The OPs are so convinced these problems are real and very important. Then logically, they would have made these threads even if we'd won the game by a point. Because of the need to educate their fellow posters about these problems. Of course, that isn't the case and they're venting. Venting is cool, but it's annoying to drop in and see the entire first page clogged up with vents. So how about making one venting thread per loss? All vents go there and the rest of the forum stays clean. My 2 cents.
I went for a nice bike ride with my wife after the game. Sure, we shit the bed and it's really frustrating because it happens all the time with this team. Whatever. It's just a game and we've chosen to root for a shitty franchise. Accept it, don't break anything, and try to keep your perspective. Most of all - stay away from this place after a bad loss until you can laugh about the idiocy that follows.
