Thanks for posting this article. Sounds like a great kid and a player to watch. I liked this in the article:
I live in Seattle, and my friends are upset that Seahawks waived him. Most of the fans are convinced that Pope was much better than the 4th RB they kept.
Yeah Collins is really a kid they drafted and probably kept based on name...Prosise was a 3rd rounder and he was going to make the team. The surprise is how well Christine Michael was...he forced the Hawks to keep him, he was awesome and was more signed just in case Rawls wasn't ready. Pope may have been the 2nd best RB who got consistent work at Hawks camp but he was a victim of the numbers game.
If anyone wants to see the preseason game he had 86 yards in you can watch it here http://www.nfl-replay.com/seattle-seahawks-vs-minnesota-vikings-aug-18-2016/ I believe his first carry is with 29 seconds left in the 3rd qtr
Nice pickup... but we still don't have that thumping bruising RB to hand it off to when we need 2-3 yards. I get that our O is fast paced and there are going to be a lot of passes to RBs but I'd feel a little better having one of those guys at least on the roster. Then again I'm not the coach.
Agreed, also given the fact our FB is an ex OLB who doesn't have experience carrying the ball in short yardage situatiuons. That said 200lbs at 5'7" means you're quite thick...
5'9" 200 is thick... but it's not big. We'll see... I doubt he's going to see the field much unless one of the top 2 go down.
We'll have quite the religious team with a Pope on the roster and a Bishop on the PS. Maybe they can help exorcise the demons from this franchise.
