He needs work but was SO much better than what I expected. That INT was an awful decision. His accuracy was really good and he has a live arm. To me he looked really good out there as a signal caller and under the center...With time and settling his feet he looked like a big time QB on some throws Some major drops by the RB and other guys, but he was with some third stringers there
He was better than I thought he would be, he made a bad decision but let's be real, a few bs penalties put us at the 2 yard line. Playing conservative after a great punt return also only gave us 3 in what should have been 7. His throws had zip, his feet looked fine and his throw to Sudfield was a big time throw, we'll see more of him next week I assume but he looked like a guy who needs some work but didn't completely shit himself
Pretty accurate assessment Barry. What he did on the field was good, but I liked his post game stuff just as much. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Petty has made a good jump from year 1 to year 2. Hope the same for Hack. The future could be bright for a position that has not been for many years.
Who gives a shit that we lost by a point? Hack impressed me with a few throws, the TD throw was a beauty, and he didn't get hurt. All that equals success in my mind.
Ever consider that the coaching staff called a passing play precisely because it was a meaningless preseason game, i.e. they wanted to give Hack a chance to make a pressure throw?
accuracy? i mean he had some nice throws but overall missed the mark too often. not all the incompletions are on him but 6/16 isnt great accuracy, and more of what was a major concern for him coming in. im less worried about the int... chalk it up to rookie decision make, you can work on that
up and down type of performance you'd expect from a rookie in his first live snaps. he did make some big boy throws though.
