Enunwa has stated he is not a tight end. that said ... the guy who seems to be a free agent every year, and the guy I always want to sign yet we never do, and he always performs (Owen Daniels) kind of like how the Mets botched the Nelson Cruz situation over and over ...
Our two RBs are gonna make up for this anyway.Powell and Forte are great pass catchers,Powell looked good yesterday.
The Jets were really trying to get Amaro involved and he dropped 2 passes he should have had last night. He's clearly got talent, he gets open. But he's got stone hands.
Still holding out hope. The drop from Geno was a really bad pass, the pass was brutal. He was wide open on the Geno pick, and he was wide open right in front of Geno at 10 yds on another bad pass from Geno out beyond Amaro. He was wide open all game vs Jax. With extended time with Fitz it could still work. A nice 10-15 yd hook up between Petty and Bostick was negated by a penalty also.
You know, it's not even that he's got stone hands. He makes crazy one handed grabs in practice. He gets open in practice and in game. He's got more than enough speed for the position for YAC. It's something mental when it's right there in front of him. He should look into seeing a psychologist.
All i hear is this guy staying after practice everyday working on his hands, I think hes going to get it together and have a good year I really do.
Jets T.E.'s are worst...they need a big blocker to pair with Amaro. Amaro is going to be okay, he's just young & adjusting to the Pro game. If he isn't the #1 receiving option of the offense, he's gonna do well. 1st thing to do is cut #47 Kellen Davis, guy sucks. Liked him coming out of college, but please. Jets T.E.'s need to be locked in the WEIGH-ROOM....and don't let them out.
It was a bad pass but he still should have caught it. Like I said he's got talent, but he has a problem with drops which could keep him off the field in favor of guys who are better blockers.
You're right. Stone hands isn't the best word. It's definitely more of a mental problem I agree. But regardless it's still an issue. He's got so much talent.
It's very hard to get a true reading on what Amaro is at this time for us, imo. He's had little time on the field in these games with Fitz. If he caught that first pass from Fitz we wouldn't be talking about the Geno drop. But when Geno has been on the field Amaro and the TE's have had little chance to succeed. I've observed Amaro wide the fuck open at least four times when Geno was throwing bad passes into coverage as he's reeling after the snap. He's been bad. The dropped pass from Fitz was inexcusable and gives reason for concern. But when he's running laterally wide open, yet again, and Geno's rolling out 8 yards away in the same direction and Geno throws a laser bullet behind him, below his knees, to me that's on Geno. Fitz puts that ball in his bread basket. If Amaro drops that pass too then it's apparent that Amaro has serious issues
