What a lazy retort. I'm sure if only he played on the other side of the ball he'd be a great pick, right? Still doesn't change the fact you didn't know what you were talking about with his mom and agent and whatnot.
I hear Darron Lee got tired of his momma on the phone with Mistah Macagnoon Nows hes wanna hire Jimmie Sexyton he be a real busta for Fitzpatricky

Amy Winehouse died from too much of everything. Oh and she was exploited by just about everybody who loved her.
So Macc basically had long contract disputes with Fitz and Lee and then caved to both of them o the same day.
I don't get that impression at all. To say he "caved" is pushing it. Fitzpatrick's salary is ranked 23rd in the league ahead of RG3, there are no strings attached after this season. It is better to have him here to compete and have Geno has a back-up so you have the options needed. Lee, I am sure wasn't a big deal at all made his 4th year guaranteed an extra 600,000 in his pocket. Fans always have to complain about shit like this. Mac will take his time and find common ground, I think he likes throw low ball offers to agents and from there they find a middle. No different then Mo coming back at the dollar figure he signed off on.
Same height and weight as Ray Lewis and Patrick Willis. Obviously not close to being in either of their leagues as yet but shouldn't be dismissed out of hand either as his speed, abilities and overall skill sets should compliment and dovetail very nicely with our existing defensive line-up, even if he is only used in obvious passing situations at the outset of his career.
Come on, man. You make a lot of good posts, but you trend toward homerism. You're not going to convince me, and I don't want to wrap your post around my morning turd and smash it against a brick wall.
How does that post you quoted of his trend towards homerism? I think it's a pretty spot on assessment of what actually happened. You don't "cave" when you are giving someone a one year deal that doesn't hamstring your cap situation in coming years or limit you from adding talent/securing your own talent (see: Mo, Forte, Powell, etc.). And also certainly isn't "caving" when you're giving a rookie a guaranteed fourth year that is a matter of $600,000.
You cave when the QB quoted the deal he ends up getting months ago and you give it to him the day before camp begins. You cave when the agents are asking for a fully guaranteed rookie contract you don't want to give him and then you give it to him the day before camp begins. There's no plainer way to say it. BOTH players got what they were quoted to be seeking. The team held out as long as they could without making it a spectacle in camp. Then they caved. I'm not saying they are bad deals. Well, I am saying the Fitz one is bad, but it's not 3 years 17 million/year bad. But they caved.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Fitz was seeking more than one years worth of security and the Jets were not going to give it to him so his fallback plan was to bet on himself and accept a one year deal. I still don't understand why people feel the need to make this about winning or losing or caving. Both the team and the player got what they wanted. The player is paid what he's worth coming off a career year but doesn't get in the long term security. The team ups there when your offer by a couple million dollars and doesn't hamstring salary cap whatsoever. Seems like a win win if anything.
