I'm on board. Fitz's back to back to back interceptions in such a important game is hard to forgive and forget. If only he trimmed his beard before the game... Anyway, Geno's last start was a perfect game! Keep that streak alive!
10 pages of shit that should be in the epic resign fitz thread. We had a chance to have 300 pages. This thread is killing the over bet
I'm not advocating for Geno Smith and I think Fitzpatrick will be better, but if the Jets go with Smith I think they'll be ok. In 2013 Jeremy Kerley was the leading WR. David Nelson, who they signed in the middle of the year off the street, was the third leading wr. A year later with the additions of Decker and Amaro, Geno cut down on his interceptions. The 2016 Jets have Marshall, Decker, and Forte as options for him. Unlike Ivory, Forte can catch passes out of the backfield. With three nfl seasons of experience, this wont be the same rookie Geno Smith that through 21 ints in 2013. Its not inconceivable that Geno could have a decent year with a much better supporting cast and three years experience.
I've gotten to the point where it doesn't matter to me. This team sucks and always will. Now I just come here for the sick burnz.
Just throwing this out there because it gives me hope: Sometimes a solid punch to the face really helps a man mature as a human being.
I believe there's a chance Geno can be a good quarterback in that magical 3rd year of starting. Unfortunately, I've had the feeling he could potentially make an ass of himself at the press conference after having his first good game as a starter. ie: "I told yall 'I'd be back!'"
As I've said many times Geno's ability is intriguing. I've never questioned the guys ability to spin the ball and make all the throws. Areas I do question that hopefully he's grown 1) Leadership 2) pre-snap reads and helping set protection 3) stepping up in the pocket not falling back 4) not letting the game be bigger than the situation (he's not cool under pressure) 5) Leadership (I say this twice as I feel it's his Achilles heel)
