Isn't part of the ISIS strategy to promote exactly this type of lone wolf attack?

Yea but you're talking about removing one specific model of gun that isn't special in terms of killing ability among many. How does that even remotely solve anything when the asshole can just move onto the next one?

Probably. So what? There were miscreants during the Ferguson riots who were holding banners and doing chants promoting ISIS. Were they Islamic extremists? Or just fucking assholes?

Chants promoting ISIS should probably be a crime at this point. It's essentially inciting violence. Much like the dick in the youtube video promoting killing gays who spoke in an orlando mosque weeks before this went down.

It will always be my belief that while groups like Isis will always be a threat, the paper trail to their creation is probably somewhere here. Every single incident that happens , is always a leftist attack on our ability to defend our selves.. Whether it be to disarm us , or take away our right to voice who we are afraid of. So I always wonder who is it that's really assaulting us

I don't know. Irishwhip has been flexing his beer muscles talking about rounding up and exterminating Muslims. That make him a criminal? Or just an asshole with a small dick.

What does it matter if it's the cause, or if it's just some convenient reason to go a'killin. Nor does it matter if Islam is a religion or just a big club with really committed members.

I could make a fair argument that the most apt analogy is the soccer world, and this past week proves it out. Run by a bunch of corrupt rich folks fattening themselves up on billions of rabid followers. Certain crazed sub-groups are prone to mass violence. Not to the extremes of Muslim sub-groups, but I suspect if you could plausibly convince certain soccer fans that their team would take the next championship and there'd be 72 virgins on the other side if only they would blow up the pub down the street, the next sound you'd hear is *BOOM*.

We have no problem painting with a broad brush. The Russian and English teams were both threatened with disqualification because of violence of their fans. Billions of fans who weren't involved in any of the rioting, not to mention the players, get penalized because of the atrocious violence of a few zealots. Wrong? Fuck no. Whatever stops the violence. Hurt feelings of innocent fans and players is the least of concerns.

For some reason, though, the world's pearl clutchers just won't have any negative talk of Islam for fear that the hundreds, maybe even thousands, of peaceful worshippers would have their feelings hurt. I'd really like to run an experiment. Let's poll Swedes to see how willing they'd be to host and give every accommodation to ManU fans in their country. And whether they'd be willing to cut them some slack for minor infractions such as, say, digital rape at the annual lutefisk festival.

    Doubt it.

PS - Yeah. I hate them too.

PPS - I really don't have a problem with an HONEST discussion on additional firearm regulation. I'll never in my life need a 30 cartridge magazine. Not even next year when the noble revolution begins.

Perfect example of what I'm talking about (but can't chase down photos on my phone):

Pull up a picture of an M-1 Garand. And then pull up a photo of an AR-15. Both semiautomatic rifles. The M-1 has a maximum capacity of something like 8 rounds. The AR-15, I think maxes out at 30 (I'm no firearms expert). Both manufactured as military rifles. They could both kill a shitload of people. But one LOOKS a whole lot scarier. And, one can keep shooting, while the other has to stop a switch out a new magazine. If we want to reduce the body count for whack jobs, religious zealots or soccer hooligans looking to shoot up a gay nightclub, we'd focus on what's going into the gun and how fast it comes out, rather than the model of the gun and what it looks like.

Just look at the Left's narrative about religion and homosexuality.

When a white Christian conservative voices anti-homosexual beliefs, they are bigots because of Christianity.

When Muslims voice anti-homosexual beliefs they are simply bigots but their bigotry is independent of their religion.

Why? As I addressed prior, Liberals are not interested in honesty but simply contradicting conservatives, and since conservatives have voiced anti-Muslim beliefs Liberals are obligated to support Muslims and are therefore forced to dishonestly and hypocritically not apply the arguments they have against Christians to Muslims even when it clearly applies.

Beyond that, their very support of Muslims is hypocritical in the face of their criticism of Christians and conservatives. Muslims are even more conservative than Christians. Muslim ideals run completely contrary to liberal beliefs. They oppose women's rights, women's freedoms, homosexual rights. And yet all of that is ignored simply to be contrary to conservatives about conservatives beliefs and criticisms of Muslims. If they can't even be honest about Muslims being conservatives and equal in their beliefs to Christians, how could or should anyone expect them to be honest about anything?

Their narratives aren't built on honest arguments but simply to continue the bullshit that being contrary makes them smarter and progressive. Just look at the logical gymnastics Vanderbilt is undertaking to rationalize his contrary arguments to avoid any association of the shooter with his religion.

Agree entirely. But if we we have to focus on a certain brand of assholes, I'm real keen in narrowing the search. All I'm saying is that, yeah, we could engage in a really thoughtful chicken-egg analysis, or we can just take people at their word. Soon enough, the regular Joe Asshole may just think twice about cavalierly joining Jihad of the Month Club.

Apparently the shooter's wife knew of the plan, even went with him to buy the ammunition, and didn't tell authorities. Now claims she tried to stop it.

    Right on.

Heh. Tried to stop it how, exactly? "Honey, we have to meet the Petersons for early drinks and the movie starts at 7:00, so no stopping to shoot up the gay club."

Certainly didn't include a phone call to the local police.
