Probably more to do with the press than reality. The press in the northeast part of the country (Boston, Philly, NY...) are always looking to take the negative angle on the home town teams because that is what the majority of the fans eat up, while west of the Mississippi the fans want their news more on the positive spin.

Look, we both know that Cimini didn't call this kid a druggie because he felt compelled by his moral duty as a reporter to root out the truth. Cimini wrote that tweet knowing that it would get retweeted and shared and bring him exposure. People who do that kind of shit, and people who call babies ugly, are both d-bags in my opinion. I like sports because they're fun, and I'm sure you understand that because you seem like a fun guy, and so I like to read articles that are upbeat. It' just my preference. Upbeat articles are great, if that's all you want to read you need to go find a team surrounded by media homers, not honest reporting. That's a dopey question; it's also one that is going to be asked by every reporter for every team in a similar situation. It is neither a display of bias nor negativity. Any player who would answer such a question is a dope but he should be ready for it.
