They must have tried to get him to validate their parking at Florham Park.............Mevi$ is such a greedy bitch.
Ahhh. You should've. Not that he would've spilled the beans, or you would've betrayed his trust on here if he had. But I'll be damned if Tanny wasn't a lying sack of shit in those negotiations, and in general. Tanny was bad actor if I do say so myself
We don't know what this means. I'm guessing the next time Revis really holds out he's retired. Just a guess though.
Revis didn't need his Uncle or agents to get a big contract ,His level of play speaked for itself.Especially back when he could actually shut a top WR down for the entire game.
I'm sure the agency recognizes that Tannenbaum was week and would fold to a players demands. We needed Revis back to try to make another go at it. He knew, we knew it, Tannenbaum knew it. It would've been interesting to see our front office press the Revis camp much closer to free agency, and see how much money he was willing to lose. I believe the negotiations happened in the midst of the new CBA but I'm not sure if it was in play yet. In any case, it's really not a smart move for players to hold out into the regular season. They lose way too much, work their way out of game shape and often end up injured missing that much time (especially without training camp).
Roscoe! Stopped there Tuesday night on way to Poughkeepsie. I always think of Tanny/Rex/Revis (or his agent) sitting in that little booth in the back area.
Dont you all think his holdout days are over, i mean you can really only hold out if you're an ELITE player which he isn't anymore. He's still great but i think he legit likes being in NY, idk about being a Jet lol but NY, Revis loves being here. And i think his holdout days are over i mean hell if they aren't then he can go. I still can't believe some of you hold him trying to get paid while he could against him, thats like someone offering you a legit way to increase your income/salary at your job and you not taking advantage of your opportunity... of course you all would you're just mad he was smart enough to execute it.
I'd like to think that Revis has decided that this is his last season playing in the NFL. He's made his money. He wants to go out on top of his game. Perhaps he's spoken with Mac and Mac has informed him that he is not in the Jets' plans beyond this season. (I think the Jets should release him after this season as they'd get $7,333,333 in cap space, or if they wait until after the 2017 season, they get $9,227,169 in cap space.) I'd really like for all of this to be true, so I could be at peace with Revis and let my hatred of his greed be in the past. The realist in me, however, realizes that more than likely, Revis does plan to hold out this season or next for more money. If so, he will be dead to me, and I will no longer care how great he once was or how much he helped make the Jets better.
Seriously doubt he's looking to hold out. It's much more possible he could get cut next season, and he'd be in line for one last payday. personally i don't think the Jets should do that though, short of his playing really declining. too much dead money by releasing him and if we make it past 2017 with him, his salary becomes vastly reduced for the last 2 seasons of his contract. so as long as he's playing well, i'd keep him (and he won't need an agent).
Stay classy, Jets fans... Roscoe Diner is tremendous. Used to be about 2/3rds on my way from Boston to Cornell...
Cornell Class of '96. Not sure how I'd prove that to you.... or why it matters. (Besides, Cornell is like half an Ivy... much prouder of my MBA from Wharton)
Few times I'd pick up fraternity brothers in New Canaan and Mt. Kisco. On those trips, we'd pass Roscoe Diner. Is that ok?
100%. My Dad went there and he was no dummy, there is NO way this idiot went. I bet he couldn't tell us what color the boathouse is at Hereford without googling it. _
