Hopefully he takes on the roll on a Bryan Thomas/Calvin Pace type player. Sets the edge, picks up occasional sacks and is just a solid player for the next 8-10 years. If he can work on his burst, hands, pass rushing techniques he may be an upgraded version of those guys, which would be awesome.

I think our FO got the message that it was time for some new blood at LB.... I'm excited to see what both Lee and Jenkins can do behind our DL

funny thing is re-vamping our LB core was probably Maccagnan's plan the moment he cut Coples mid-season. He knew he wasn't resigning Pace, and Davis (who under-whelmed) was also a FA.

The stage was set perfectly for Macc to go LB early and often in this draft, and he didn't disappoint.

Macc also acquired a potential franchise QB, and traded up late for O-Line help.

3 yrs from know when this draft is properly evaluated, it may stand out as one of the best.

Regarding Floyd vs Jenkins pass rush production, the similarities are less impressive when you see that more than half the time they weren't lining Floyd up to pass rush at all, opting to put him at WILB or on a slot receiver.

Floyd has by far the best first step in the draft, so good that he can get by untouched. The risk then comes in if he can do that on the big stage since he's so skinny. Same problem I have with Lee, he needs to be stronger.

Jenkins on the other hand is a "second wave" pass rusher. He can set the edge and hug the line all day, and jump on the opportunities our big guys, Lee, or Mauldin can make for him without worrying too much about getting blown off his spot time and time again. Complimentary piece, and a good one.

youre right about floyd, but jenkins wasnt lining up to rush the passer all of the time, either. i noticed that they lined jenkins up at the five technique quite a bit ... which is strange because you would figure that a school that recruits like uga would have some big uglies capable of that assignment

from the few cutups that ive seen they had floyd and lee playing out of position a lot

Jenkins is a solid pick. Great short area quickness and wrap up tackler.

To anyone who wanted Fackrell ahead of him remember that he doesn't set the edge nearly as good as Jenkins nor did he play at the same competition level did Jenkins did, Georgia(SEC) Utah State (MWC) i honestly had to look up mountain west conference. And Jenkins is 21 while Mackrell is 24 like is this even really a debate.

Very happy with Jenkins as a prospect. Perfect 3rd round pick.

Hoping Jenkins and Mauldin end up being the real deal... with Mo+Leonard or Sheldon+Leonard.. and Darron Lee... this could be an amazing day add in Marcus Williams and Burris kid if they develop with Pryor. Could be really scarey. I also like Freddie Bishop if he can make the leap to nfl level.
