And piggybacking on this Fitz allows us to go into the season with this bullshit line because he isn't confined to the pocket.

Putting Hack behind this line will be doomsday for him.

I put Geno in between the two. He showed he can scramble if needed.

2017 will be heavy offense reinforcements with OL and TE and Another stud WR for Hack.

That's the problem, you have no issue with telling people they should listen to your voice but if anyone offers an opinion to the contrary you attack it as being told what to think. You have your opinion, that's fine. But when one expresses an opinion one has to accept that there are going to be counterviews. I know I'm going to have people take contrary views to mine when I present them, and unless they get insulting I'll stay above the fray, I'll fight for my opinion (and unless dealing with statistics that's all they are, opinions).

sorry if people disagreeing with your viewpoint hurts your feelings.

Doesn't hurt my feelings one bit. Again agree or disagree with my opinions, but don't tell me I didn't see what I saw or that somehow I'm uninformed because someone read something contrary to what I said. There are opinions on this guy that are all over the map. Not all the negative opinions are "uninformed" and all the positive opinions informed.

But I really don't care if you agree with my opinions.

I came across this take on Hackenberg which pretty much sums it up better than I could:

I've never seen so much anger about a guy who has the physical and mental ability of a #1 overall pick.

"Aw shucks, we really should have taken a guard here." Freak that. A competent staff can get a guard that fits a system literally anywhere. Mid round, late bloomer at a big school who didn't start until Senior year? There's a guard. Small school tackle who lacks high level agility? Put him at Guard. Over sized fullback? Take him to Chilis' all summer and he's a guard. Fat kid who always manages to catch the ice cream truck because of his quick feet? Guard.

This is a potentially elite quarterback (don't say "but so was Geno!!"). He wasn't. He was another spread project with no understanding of the game). For people who shut Hackenberg down because they saw numbers or caught a drive or two of his during the commercials of their Murder She Wrote marathon, his staff is a joke, and his OL was the worst of all time. "Those are excuses!!" Try realities.

This is better than a lottery ticket, this is a Willie Wonka style Golden Ticket. Might we end up carried away to, what I can only assume is Hell, by Oompa Loompas? Yeah maybe. Sometimes shit doesn't work out. But we could also get the whole factory.

I'd rather go ham after something great than sit back and hope a QB falls into our laps when we need it most.

The thought of Petty and Hack pushing each other all summer, all season, and into the future year has me elated.

We went for so long with either no or ill conceived hope at the QB position; now we have two guys who are big, strong armed, and being coached by a staff we all seem to have a lot of confidence in.

How could anyone be mad? This could be the thing that gets us where we've always wanted to go. And if it's not, then so be it, but at least we tried.

Are we creating nicknames yet? If so, my choice is "The Hack Exchange"

he already has a nickname from his haters. They change the first letter of his last name so that it resembles a QB being tackled for a loss. Something that happened quite a bit at PSU. We are all debating why it happened quite a bit there but if it happens quite a bit here it will be a natural nickname that we adopt. Hopefully thats not the case and we can still call him Hackenberg

No. But if he ever gets to play in a game and gets hurt or is yanked the headline will read "HACK OFF."

I'm kind of hoping Fitzpatrick re-signs with us at a reasonable rate and keeps the other 3 guys on the bench this year. I could see either Hackenberg or Petty emerging in a year or two after they've had a lot of seasoning in the classroom and in terms of understanding this media market. I don't see either of them as likely to be the answer next year. I'd really like to see the OL firmed up a bit before either of them gets put in place behind it. Fitzpatrick understands the inner clock much better than the other 3 guys combined at this point. He can survive a transition year for the line better than any of them.

Yeah, it's too bad the Jets didn't draft Fackrell. They could have had a field day with "holy mackerel" and Fackrell.

I think resigning Fitz is even more critical now. If Hackenberg has the football IQ that the Jets believe he has, him watching a smart QB with a great understanding of the offense like Fitz play a season in front of him could be a vital part of his possible success.

And the O-Line definitely needs to be tightened up before putting Hackenberg back there as well.

    If he's good:

The 'Berg (wherein the opposing defense is the Titanic)

    I'm sorry. I'll leave now.
