......... know zilch about this guy.... but CB??? ok. I take it we won't be drafting another defensive player until 2018 right?
wow ....Bowles influence again for defense There is no offense in our future just great defense for Bowles to pad resume for Coordinator Job waiting for him. REX BS ALL OVER AGAIN AND MAC JUST NODS HIS HEAD Ridiculous draft, stupid
I trust Bowles and I like Burris's size. We need the depth, assuming Milliner and McDougel do nothing.
FWIW - Here's Sports Illustrated's take on Burris: http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/04/25/2016-nfl-draft-backup-picks-jordan-howard-james-bradberry Round 1 option: Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson Backup plan: Juston Burris, CB, NC State In truth, Burris’s early-round comp probably falls between Alexander and, say, Eli Apple or William Jackson—two cornerbacks whose scouting reports will start by mentioning their size and length. Burris (6' 0" with a 31 1/2-inch wingspan) is one of the heavier CBs at 212 lbs., so he should be able to hold his own physically against most wide receivers. His so-so speed (4.53) falls closer in line with that of Alexander (4.49), who by now has a well-known reputation of being a cocky, aggressive defender. Likewise, Burris figures to appeal most to teams featuring heavy press-man concepts, because he can negate his average deep speed by punishing WRs off the line. The challenge for Burris as he transitions to the NFL will be to show more discipline in his coverage. That brawling nature can bite him when he doesn’t force a stalemate at the line. But he is quite a physical specimen, one who can develop into a starter.
Oh calm yourself. Biggest issue is still Oline, but every other position of need has been covered and this team needs as much defensive depth as it needs offensive playmakers.
Not floored with the pick but I get it given Milliner and mcDougle are never healthy. Teams are still trading down at this point and time, still not sure why the jets refuse to do so.
This Burris kid looks pretty decent to me.........this pick tells us what Mac and Bowles think of Milliner and McDougle.
Burris is not that good a corner. I hope their plan is to play him as a safety. Just a whack pick considering we could have gotten a good guard here.
I understand we have a need at many positions, but why aren't they considering OL? I just think that we should've drafted OL player instead of CB. I have trust in Mac and Bowles, but this draft so far doesn't WOW me.
Yes at least when we lose in coming seasons when the offense ages out it will be 16 -0, 22-7 and more low scoring games
Trash pick. Could have done a lot there. Could have had Cooper for an additional 7th rounder next year.
