Pro Football Weekly had a round 6-7 grade on him, before the last minute meteoric rise for no apparent reason (read: hype) There were really no good QBs in this draft, imo. I think Lynch will be above average, but the rest will be busts...gut feeling. Looks like "Magic Mike" is human after all. His first big bust.
He needs to get the fans onside early in his career. He should send some dick pics to Jen Sterger once his conference call is over.
Mac clearly got insight from Houston. I trust that Gailey can make something of Petty and Hack. Fuck it. Give Geno. We're drafting a project an every year. We will continue to throw shit at the wall and see if it sticks.
Do you work for the Jets? The only time the PSU offense was good this year was the second half of the bowl game when his backup came in. The biggest problem with PSU was Christian Hackeburgs play at the position.
what a stupid pick! They never even gave 4th round pick Petty from last year a chance and now they waste another high pick on a project. Congrats jets, you still have crap for an offensive line and have used your first two picks from 2016 on backups.
well.... at least its not mark sanchez.... sack of hack, hack of shit, theres potential for some good nicknames for this feller.
Well Mac and Todd better pray this works out. Their tenure is tied to this move now. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Drafting a project QB until you found THE one is all good. But do they have to do in with 2nd round pick?! There are projects in 4th available too
That's just wrong...NFL insiders have been saying for a while he could even be a late 1st round pick He's easily the best QB prospect if you're going for potential and I don't even love the pick But damn man a potential franchise QB is worth a gamble in this spot so let's hope
Sanchez has more talent in his pinky than Hackenberg has in his whole body. I'd rather Tebow than Hackenberg, that's how bad Hackenberg is.
I mean he had poor production but undrafted talent is simply not true. He has all the talent in the world. We'll see if Gailey and Mac can get it out of him. I'll slide out of this thread for now and let you guys carry on though.
Agreed but then it made little sense to use a 2nd rounder on a project QB We already have one of those in Petty. And it's pretty bad if they don't think much of him considering they just wasted a 4th on him last year
They've been saying "for awhile", if by that you mean a couple weeks? Before that, he was a late round prospect. And they haven't played any games since then....just the annual pre-draft hype causing a fringe prospect to shoot up irrationally in the last minute craziness leading up to a draft. Happens every year, and this time we fell for it.
1: Outside of about two or three games in his college career, Hackenberg has been…well…a ‘hack’. He throws for almost as many TDs as INTs (taking away his 2–3 best games), and never has he completed a season with above a 60% completion percentage. His 53.5% completion percentage rate in 2015, in this era of passing games, is unconscionable for a serious NFL prospect. 2: His record against Big Ten teams that finished the season with a .500+ record was 4–11…never beating Ohio State or Michigan State. FUCK THIS TEAM
This guys low production is due to the whole Sandusky fallout and lack of talent around him... Talent doesn't just disappear and he's had it since high school... Glad the jets took a chance on him, I have a feeling he will payoff dividends in the long run!!!!
