To be fair a few seasons ago he was predicted to be the first overall pick and then bill o brien left and he struggled....many say penn states o line was horrendous

and that's not to say I think this kid was the right call....

 

Shocked man,, wtf,, fitz sets franchise records and we go and pick a qb? Should've signed fitz and gotten him more support on o line,. Sheesh!!

 

This has no effect on Fitz resigning whatsoever .
I liked the skills of this kid paired with the brilliance of Gaily .
Can't say what he will become but he's a big tough kid and I like what he brings to the table

I'm not sad about it, and i have faith in Mac. It's not like they traded up for him. They took a chance on a QB with the 51st pick. Have some faith in your GM and coaching staff.

I feel similar...Def has a higher ceiling than anyone left at the QB position and we don't have a proven franchise QB

Chad Pennington made the pick. Hackenberg will be the next Chad. LOVE the pick. Any fans that hate it now, will love it down the line. Guaranteed.

 

Jon Gruden thinks this guy is a 1st round pick, Jets have 3 MNF games this year. The lovefest will verge into borderline Brett Favre esque for Hackenberg.

I dont get it... i thought mac was all about best player available... but here we are and our first 2 picks were need/fit over BPA.

i would have been cool with hackenberg in say the 4th round or later if he slid. but at 51 overall i dont see it. maybe with gailey and marshall he looks more like he did under obrien and with allen robinson, but the guy got worse year over year.

i dont get it.

 

You underestimate our ability to not love.

Agree 100%. You said late day 3, and that's where he was slotted until the last minute craziness, late riser to the extreme!

You need a QB in this league. Theyre doing the right thing. If you think one COULD be the one you take him. And you do that every year if that's what it takes until you find one

This isnt going to impact Fitzpatrick in any was. Hes not going to start this year or probably next year. The FO must be comfortable getting rid of Geno or Petty if Fitz comes back
