hold on, we've watched time and time and time and time again Bart Scott getting burned by fast RB/TE combos and then Demario Davis time and time again burned by fast RB/TE combos and then WERE complaining about drafting someone that's NOT going to get burned on the flats? Holy shit guys.

This is EXACTLY what we've NEEDED. Hands down.

That's the reality of the new NFL. This position is in a premium.

What do we say everytime we get burned? "Fuck our slow ass LBs"

This is a great pick from that stand point.

I know they do, the Jets play a hybrid 3-4/4-3...I can see how they want to use him.

No more using Richarson as a standup OLB.

Carter, Lee and Mauldin will use their speed to handle the RB coming out of the backfield and getting to the QB while the big boys handle the offensive lineman.

It's just not the sexy pick everyone wanted to see. I'm all for it.

Love the kid's speed, sideline to sideline player who can cover.
    It's his 235lb frame I worry about.

You are such a hypocrite. You want a David Harris clone and you've been bashing David Harris for months.

How good would that 4.4 speed be when he is being mashed to the ground by offensive linemans, HB and FB. You say he'll run around? Well the play is already behind him and he's late.

235 lbs is generous. He's more in the 225 range and that worries me more.

Isn't Luke Kuechly 235? Plenty of time to put on weight if needed.

Don't know much about the player, but I like the reasons behind his selection:
    - speed infusion at the LB position
    - very young (21) so he has more upside than other guys (physically as well as knowledge of the game)
    - good character and love for the game
    - good scheme fit playing behind a big DL

In terms of size, his combine size/weight isn't all that different from guys like Shazier, Bucannon and Thompson. The game is shifting more and more towards spreading the field. Harris is a rock in the run game so they will complement each other well, the only thing i'm "worried" about is that they are both under 6'2"... someting TEs can exploit (but at least Henderson is 6'3").

All in all not the guy I was expecting (was hoping for Noah Spence) but I don't dislike the pick.

    BAZINGA!
If he's going up against TE's like Gronk in pass coverage he's going to get manhandled

    I heard he's only 5-11 200 lbs.

    And shrinking.

Once we made our pick, sure they made some sense. Though I think the Vikings picked out of need.

And it is generally widely accepted that you reach your max physical peak at 21.

There is no way he is ever going to get any bigger or stronger than he is now.

    He's physically matured.

He shouldn't even bother with, you know, an NFL strength and conditioning program.

Would be a waste of time.

Every analyst and expert but Louis Riddick is on board with this pick, yet there are 5 fans on a Jets Internet message board that have all the answers. This place never ceases to amaze me.

The problem isn't his weight, the problems is his softness as a linebacker.

Meh on this pick plus we have had terrible luck picking from OSU

Lawson and Floyd were gone so I was down after that . If its BPA reason says its Ltreadwell or someone else. Would have been OK wit Lynch but Petty more valued

This pick is a Todd Bowles special. Guy is def not the edge rusher we need (too small) but a finesse player to get into coverage. That's all folks. Floyd would have been better and MJack is a broken man

If it works Bowles/Mac are both genius

    Gotta wait and see...B-

Knew nothing about this draft class coming in this year. Love the idea of this pick that has been mentioned in this thread many times already. Speedy lb is what we've been wishing for after watching slow lbs get burned.

Okay yea he's small right now. Time for him to hit the big boy NFL training program and bulk up a bit. It happens all the time. Plus he's young.

I'm still in belief that this isn't the same old Jets. I like he philosophy of Mac and Bowles and I actually trust them. I think this is set to be a great pick.

We needed an OL or QB.

I bet Breno liked the pick.

Bowles loves his hybrid type players. Now he's got 2 players in Lee and Pryor that can line up at OLB, ILB or safety to blitz, cover RBs/TEs or play zone. Reminds me of the Buchanon/Mathieu combo he had in Arizona. Marcus Williams and Gilchrist are also versatile.

One of my main complaints about this team is its lack of speed and youth on defense. I thought that since it's relying on so many post-prime veterans, it was bound to collapse soon. Suddenly with Pryor, Lee, Mauldin, Williams, Richardson and Wilkerson (?) you've got a great core of young, versatile players to build around (and on the cheap since most are on rookie deals). I love it, now go get me a WR, OT or QB.

OK genius. The top OL were gone and they obviously didn't like Lynch ( there already is a talented QB on the roster from a spread college offense that they do like). So what do you do? Pass? I watched Lynch vs Auburn and he was pitiful. I know it's one game, but...... How about we wait three years before we judge this draft?
