Nice, we play the Rams this year. Get to go against a bad team that added no pieces in the draft and is throwing out a rookie QB with no help. Hopefully they're our home opener when it comes out tonight, I'd go see that.
it sure is nice to have a qb. sure does suck not to have one. heres to hoping the rams completely flounder in la.
Especially considering Fisher went out of his way to mock RG3 by sending out all the guys they acquired for him for a coin toss against the Redskins
because it's California, and the Rams need to market a franchise face, i think they will be taking the home state Goff. He's also more day 1 ready, and they have no other options. they really did give up a ton, but i guess i get it. they went all in. San Fran must be groaning.. wonder what the cost will be to get Wentz at #2? swapping firsts plus our 2nd and Mo? If he turned out to be the better player, Mac would look like a genius paying half the price.
No reason to trade the house to get Wentz. I am a huge fan, but we don't need to be giving the keys of a Ferrari to a rookie QB again like we did in 09 with Muck.
He'd also be basing his job on one move if he ever did that. I think Mac will eventually have to make a move for a young QB that isnt a 4th rounder , but this isnt the year IMO. Plus everything has Philly as the only logical choice to trade with Cleveland to draft Wentz. Why they are looking for another QB after overpaying 2 is anybody's guess but Wentz will most likely either be in Cleveland or Philly come draft day.
New City, splash deal. I like Goff, but there's no way he's worth the first pick in the draft, let alone a top ten pick and the same applies to Wentz for me. I wonder what the Browns do now.
They f*cked the Browns. The Browns and their new analytics team wanted Wentz to be available at the 2nd pick so they can make the trade the Titans just did. I hope those analytics guys have a plan B.
I'm going to be on my toes about who the fucking Rams pick! Every time it is a clearly weak QB draft, the smart teams like the Rams and Lions really surprise us. This could be the year we trade up to 5 and get that diamond in the rough.
agreed, he would be basing his job on it. but every GM bases their jobs on what they do, or don't do, at the QB position. giving up Mo plus a 2nd, to take a QB in the 1st isn't that huge a risk if you believe in the QB. whether that's enough to get it done with Cle, i don't know.. I like that Mac is at least seriously looking into all the options.
The analytics guys wanted no part of drafting a qb with a top pick. They would much rather have more picks so they can get more players that fit into their formula. Browns were never going to take a qb at 2.
I'm curious... Why do you say that? If I am doing statistical analysis of the NFL, no matter what my metrics are, I am going to see even more how important the QB position is. How in nearly every game, a team with the better QB, even with pure junk around them, stands a better chance of winning. Why would analytics folks shy away from drafting a QB after seeing that? I personally would think just the opposite. If I am running a statistical analysis of the NFL I would move hell and high water just to get a QB. I would draft one every year until it pans out.
